The Largo Police Department urges residents to stay off the roads. Many traffic signals in the city are inoperable. If a traffic signal is completely out, treat it as a four-way stop and proceed with caution. Also, watch for workers clearing debris.

The Largo Police Department is urging residents to shelter in place NOW and stay indoors during the storm. Stay safe Largo! We will get through this together.

Largo Storm Update: Crews are working nonstop to clear high-risk areas. If not serviced, bring debris to 3095 114th Ave N, St. Pete. The facility closes at 6pm. Evacuation zone residents should complete home prep and be in a safe place by tonight. @LargoMayor

As the sun rises, please continue to stay off the roads as Largo Police and city crews will begin to assess the damage left behind by Hurricane Helene. Overnight, our midnight shift officers were kept busy dealing with flooding, downed power lines, and dozens of rescues.

Pinellas County has issued a mandatory evacuation of Zone A, including all mobile homes across the county. Residents in these areas should complete their evacuations and be in a safe place before weather conditions become hazardous.

As #TSDebbie brings heavy rain, residents are urged to avoid driving through flooded roads. Floodwaters can be deceptively deep and swift, posing serious risks to pedestrians and vehicles. If you encounter a flooded road, turn around and find an alternative route.
