My haircut costs 40k and I get it done every 2 to 3 weeks. I used to use the same vendor for my nails consistently until I had to find another serious vendor earlier this year. What happened? You’ll come in for hair and nails and spend hourssssssss before you’ll finish and go home. Because of how busy I am, I got tired of that kind of routine but kept at it and it’s quite some distance from my home or office. After a while, I started paying in bulk like subscriptions… I’ll send an amount that should make my hair and nails for like 7-10 times and then they’ll be deducting as I get them done. First their staff never stayed. I tried to discuss but they gave so many reasons why it was so. Then I’ll go sometimes and the person to make my nails was never around, went for visiting day, went to church, went for home service bla bla bla. On some days, I’ll be there and see customers walk in and out because there was no one to attend to them and they couldn’t wait. And of course people who can’t wait won’t agree to pay huge amounts in subscription for this service because they knew they might not get it. In January when I was going to resume work, I needed to make my hair and nails. They gave me a time to come which wasn’t convenient, I eventually could make only my hair and that was my last time asking to make my nails there. I asked one of my sisters to find me another vendor. Between January and now, the new vendor has made money off my head because I’m always opting for home service - 35k per time. So that other vendor has lost me and if I find another place that can get my haircut, I’m certain that will be gone too. Dear business owners, business is serious business. Nobody cares about anything you have to say. If you ever say you want to sell a product or service, get serious. Not everyone has time to play around. It’s not our family affair. If we are paying for a service or whatever, we expect to get it with no excuses, it’s honestly none of our business how you plan to make things work. If you need staff, hire staff. If you need systems and structure, build them in. If you need sense, get it and apply it. You’ve heard abi? Okay bye. ©augustankanu
