Picture your own org. Your own MDM. Your own team.
Could you do this on Monday? 📆
If your config lives in a GUI, the answer is no – not because the AI isn't capable, but because there's no surface for it to work against. Without GitOps, there is no AI-accelerated device management.

@crisisofconsc @LetsTrekSpain If you’re open to moving MDMs, Fleet supports Wireshark as an officially supported, maintained app:
Windows: fleetdm.com/software-catal…
macOS: fleetdm.com/software-catal…
Also would be easy to ban it for all but a few using a label, or use a self-service script for a “lease”.

Having a model of the firm's Windows configuration in your head is an absolutely astonishingly rare thing.
WhiskeyHacker@whiskeyhacker
I spent my normal whiskey/cigar break thinking and reading and counting how many configuration "switches" are available when you are a firm like Stryker. 36,000 to 45,000 config settings And that's before you count the permutations. You think a spreadsheet and a quarterly review covers it?

Apple’s Managed Device Migration has lowered the barrier to switching. 🚧
What Apple hasn’t done is solve that “last mile” problem. There hasn’t been a way for Mac admins to quickly and easily move their device configurations to a new device management service...
Until now.
Join our own Henry Stamerjohann and Harrison Ravazzolo on the Main Stage at MacAD.UK on April 22nd at 11:30am.
They’ll share how to easily and automatically make the device profiles you already have ready to migrate.

Coming to MacAdmins EU or Macad.uk? You can get certified on using infrastructure as code with AI to increase your company’s speed in a way that’s privacy-friendly, regulation-friendly, and cool with labor boards.

It’s official: The shift toward open, scalable endpoint management is here. 🚀
Gartner has released its 2026 research for the endpoint management market, and Fleet has been recognized across three strategic reports. From the Magic Quadrant to the Market Guide, one thing is clear - legacy "black box" suites are losing ground to programmable, transparent platforms.
In their analysis, Gartner explicitly describes Fleet as a "scalable, open-source platform" featuring "community-driven extensibility."
We now support over 1,300 organizations and manage more than 2,000,000+ endpoints. We are helping the world's most valuable companies rewrite the playbook on IT operations.
Read our blog about what these reports mean for the future of device management.

That’s a wrap on Gartner IOCS in Vegas... What stood out most this week wasn’t any single trend - it was how consistent the conversations were.
So many teams told us the same thing:
- Linux is already in their environment (often more than they realize).
- It’s usually unmanaged or managed differently than everything else.
- Engineers want choice. Security teams want visibility. Both are right.
Mike’s talk, “The year of the Linux desktop,” put language around what many teams are already living: desktop Linux isn’t hypothetical anymore. It’s here, it’s growing, and pretending it’s “just a niche” is starting to create real risk and friction.
At the booth, we spent most of our time listening to attendees and walking them through how IT teams are approaching multi-OS environments, data residency requirements, and what “managing Linux like everything else” actually means in practice.
Big thanks to everyone who stopped by to share what’s working, what’s breaking, and what’s still unresolved. Those conversations are what shape the work we do next.
Until next time, IOCS. 🦢
