I now look forward to long journeys in my car because I can listen to the BBC podcast "The Rest is History". It is absolutely brilliant. Does anyone else share my enthusiasm for these podcasts? Any recommendations? I have just finished "Horror in the Congo..."

@Hookean1 For some reason I have always loved materials research. A great book is Structures (or why things don't fall down) by J.E.Gordon. An easily accessible read for students (if inclined!).

Physics teachers. When teaching Materials, I often use this clip about the life and work of David Kirkaldy. It can break up what is often a dry topic and give it some relevance youtube.com/watch?v=iyXwjP…

Please check out my website flippedaroundphysics.com. There may have been some updates since you last visited. I am working on adding additional questions on topics. Even if you are not a fan of flipped learning, the resources may be useful for consolidation/revision.

Does anyone have experience of being a Consultant Physics Specialist in UK schools where there is a lack of Physics specialists? Would very much appreciate a chat.

What are the rules on using exam paper questions in resources for financial gain? I see a lot of these. Isn't this a breach of copyright? Is a blind eye turned because it is for educational purposes?

@Hookean1 In fact, does just “proportional” uniquely define the relationship we are picturing “straight line with positive gradient passing through the origin”? Just asking - not sure.

@Hookean1 I think "directly" proportional might have first been used in contrast to "indirectly" proportional (meaning "inversely" proportional)?
