Ben Zumbahlen, the Legislative Director for the Coastal Atlantic, testified during the North Carolina Senate Education Committee hearing earlier this week in support of SB 1044, the Foundational Math Act. This comprehensive math policy would implement early screenings and individualized support for students, the use of high-quality instructional materials and require a 60-minute minimum of daily math instruction. carolinajournal.com/nc-senate-bill…

ExcelinEd in Action ➡️ Southeast Legislative Director Miranda Thomas testified in support of Georgia's HB 1107 and HB 1030 during the House Education Subcommittee's hearing earlier this week! HB 1107, the Excellent Teacher Preparation Act, strengthens Georgia’s efforts by improving the data used to evaluate educator preparation programs, helping ensure Schools of Education are effectively preparing future teachers for the classroom. HB 1030 would establish the Math Matters Act - this act would guarantee access to advanced math courses for middle and high school students, require 60 minutes of daily math instruction in grades 4–5 and strengthen educator preparation programs in math training.
