Caribbean Tourism Shows Resilient Growth Amid Global Headwinds in 2025 BRIDGETOWN, Barbados (April 2, 2026) — Caribbean tourism continued its expansion in 2025, recording a 2.5% increase in international stay-over arrivals to an estimated 35 million visits, according to the Caribbean Tourism Organization (CTO). This performance — approximately 900,000 more tourists than in 2024 — reflects the region’s sustained recovery and resilience with arrivals once again surpassing pre-pandemic 2019 levels. Despite a complex global environment marked by evolving economic conditions in key source markets, heightened geopolitical tensions and weather-related disruptions, including the passage of Hurricane Melissa, the region maintained steady tourism demand throughout much of the year. CTO Spotlights Women’s Impact in Tourism on International Women’s Day BRIDGETOWN, Barbados (March 8, 2026) — The Caribbean Tourism Organization (CTO) joined the global observance of International Women’s Day today, emphasizing persistent gender disparities while celebrating women’s leadership across the region’s vital tourism industry. International Women’s Day 2026, under the United Nations theme “Rights. Justice. Action. For ALL Women and Girls,” calls for concerted attempts to dismantle barriers to equal justice, including discriminatory laws, weak legal protections, and harmful practices and social norms that undermine the rights of women and girls. Dona Regis-Prosper, the first woman to serve as Secretary-General and CEO of CTO, emphasized the urgency of ongoing advocacy. “International Women’s Day is a plea for action to ensure women and girls everywhere have equal rights, equal justice and equal opportunity,” Regis-Prosper said. She pointed to ongoing global challenges, noting that women worldwide still hold only 64% of the legal rights that men do. “Although progress has been made, the fact remains that no country has fully closed the legal gaps between men and women. That statistic reminds us that advocacy and action continue to be essential — not only in policy, but in the spaces where women lead, innovate and mold industries.” Read more here: conta.cc/4s042JD #OneCaribbean #CaribbeanTourism #IWD2026 #InternationalWomensDay

CTO Names Guyana Host of 2026 State of the Tourism Industry Conference BARBADOS (February 9, 2026) – The Caribbean Tourism Organization (CTO) has selected Guyana to host its flagship State of the Tourism Industry Conference (SOTIC) in October 2026 — marking the first time the country will stage the conference since its inception. Scheduled for Georgetown, October 5–9, 2026, the prestigious regional gathering brings together hundreds of Caribbean tourism leaders, international delegates, policymakers, youth representatives, journalists and industry stakeholders. SOTIC serves as CTO’s principal forum for examining critical issues, sharing innovation and shaping the future direction of Caribbean tourism. Susan Rodrigues, Guyana’s Minister of Tourism, Industry and Commerce, described the selection as a milestone reflecting growing regional confidence in Guyana’s tourism leadership and its expanding role in regional dialogue. “This conference is CTO’s premier gathering for Caribbean tourism leaders and attracts hundreds of regional and international delegates, positioning Guyana as a major player in the development of MICE tourism — a specialized, high-value segment of business travel focused on Meetings, Incentives, Conferences and Exhibitions,” Rodrigues said. Caribbean Tourism Open for Business: CTO Reaffirms Regional Resilience and Operational Stability BARBADOS (January 7, 2026) – The Caribbean Tourism Organization (CTO) and our 25 member destinations have been closely monitoring geopolitical developments in Venezuela and addressing disruptions experienced by travelers due to the temporary closure of airspace this past weekend. The Caribbean has extensive experience managing external disruptions and has consistently demonstrated the resilience of its tourism industry. We are grateful to our airline partners for adding capacity to ensure travelers were able to continue with their plans, and to the accommodations sector for its flexibility in supporting affected guests, while safeguarding the region’s vital economic engine. Cruise and air travel within the Caribbean remain operational, and advance bookings continue to be strong. CTO encourages travelers to proceed with their plans and assures partners and visitors that the Caribbean remains open for business and ready to welcome travelers. Read more here: conta.cc/4jqXXSQ

On December 5, 2025, we gathered in Miami for A Christmas of Hope — a CTO fundraiser dedicated to supporting tourism workers in Jamaica and Haiti impacted by Hurricane Melissa. These are the individuals who welcome the world with warmth, culture and resilience, yet often face the greatest vulnerabilities in times of crisis. The generosity and unity in the room were truly inspiring. Many reached out to say they wanted to contribute but couldn’t join us in person — and we heard you. We’re pleased to share that the fundraiser is now open online, giving everyone the opportunity to support the people who are the backbone of our visitor economies. Tourism workers are the heart of our destinations. They uplift communities, create unforgettable experiences and carry the spirit of the Caribbean. Now, they need us more than ever. We extend our deepest gratitude to our Table Sponsors and Supporters for their incredible support: * Barbados * United States Virgin Islands (USVI) * Antigua and Barbuda * Dominica * CTO Allied Board * St. Kitts A sincere thank you as well to all donors and supporters — your kindness and commitment are helping rebuild hope and opportunity for countless families. You can continue to make a difference: $250 – fygaro.com/en/pb/0d0c5dbf… $500 – fygaro.com/en/pb/5a0317bc… $1,000 – fygaro.com/en/pb/627739ee… For specific donation inquiries, please contact us at ctosg@caribtourism.com. The buzz from Caribbean Weekend in Miami is still going strong 🌴 In the first of two video clips, CTO Chairman Ian Gooding-Edghill, who also serves as Barbados’ Minister of Tourism and International Transportation, recaps a productive weekend of engagement held earlier this month, bringing together ministers, commissioners and directors of tourism, allied members and other key partners. Highlights included a Special Purpose Meeting of the Council of Ministers and Board of Directors, progress toward strengthening the region’s aviation and air connectivity strategy, focused discussions on recovery efforts following Hurricane Melissa in Jamaica and Haiti, and a fundraiser dedicated to supporting tourism workers in both countries. The weekend reinforced the value of collaboration and collective action as the Caribbean continues to move forward together. 🎥 Clip 2 coming soon. #OneCaribbean #CaribbeanTourism #CaribbeanWeekendinMiami
