I thoroughly enjoyed my engaging discussions with academic colleagues, law and policy makers, development partners and various stakeholders in geographical indications ecosystems globally. Many thanks to Government of Zimbabwe for the warm welcome and hospitality.

In my Keynote, while acknowledging the complexities and contestations around GIs, I emphasised its potential to contribute meaningfully to endogenous socio-economic development. I also presented my Manifesto on Geographical Indications alongside a Four Point Agenda for Africa.

It was a delight to deliver the Keynote Address at @WIPO’s Worldwide Symposium on Geographical Indications, jointly organised by WIPO and the Companies and Intellectual Property Office of Zimbabwe, with the support of @_ARIPO.
