Sharif University of Technology (founded as Arya Mehr University in 1966) is an icon of modernization and progress in Iran. Its alumni include the first woman to win the Field Medal in Mathematics, Maryam Mirzakhani. It has been a national symbol of achievement, gaining international recognition for the quality of its graduates, large number who have been admitted into the very best engineering programs in the West. The aim of this kind of wonton destruction could only be the nation of Iran itself.

Sharif University of Technology in Tehran, one of Iran’s top science and engineering institutions, was bombed tonight, and a number of schools reportedly damaged. Founded in 1966 (as Aryamehr University), Sharif is a cornerstone of Iran’s scientific and academic life. Striking and destroying universities and schools is not just an attack on buildings,it is an attack on a country’s future.

After much reflection, I have decided to resign from my position as Director of the National Counterterrorism Center, effective today. I cannot in good conscience support the ongoing war in Iran. Iran posed no imminent threat to our nation, and it is clear that we started this war due to pressure from Israel and its powerful American lobby. It has been an honor serving under @POTUS and @DNIGabbard and leading the professionals at NCTC. May God bless America.

I don’t think you understand how catastrophic the oil refinery bombing in Tehran is. seeing people with big purpose in life like me directly experiencing war, is the reason I keep going too. Allah made us purposeful in this life but it's only a means to be closer to Him. This life is 1 of 2; the latter has always been the focus. No one to please except our Rabb.
