@dreamfyrefairy Which leads her to actually make it true. It leads to the realization that Viserys did have a prophetic dream but it was an omen to war and that his actions lead it to happen and to the fall of his house even after he made Rhaenyra his heir.

@dreamfyrefairy I feel like the only reason they made this happen was because Viserys told her about his dream of having a son wearing the conqueror’s crown and named their first son Aegon, this makes her believe he is saying in his deathbed that Aegon was the child he saw

@subjecttidings Exactly! It’s insane to me because incest often comes with abuse usually involving women and children, and this is present in asoiaf.

@Jacaelaerys That he could basically just sell her off. A daughter’s position/ freedom in that world could be challenged with the presence of a brother. In her brother and her mother’s funeral she tells Daemon “I will never be a son”. Having a brother always haunted her for a lot of reasons.

@Jacaelaerys Rhaenyra was worried about her position because Viserys was obsessed with having a son, and Alicent knew it. Her brother would not just be her father’s heir but the center of his world/ their family. When Aegon is born she literally says Viserys has no use for her anymore

Incest is most of the time deeply connected to abuse and assault, and at least on this George does not seem to run away from it.

The quotes and replies on this are really scaring me because do you guys really believe men can’t write stories about war or stories that discuss abuse/assault without making multiple of their female characters be assaulted?

i hate reading asoiaf youll read a line about a woman being raped by half a hundred men and your stomach would drop and youll want to cry but then the book forces you to move on cause its literally just one throwaway line and its not important and i hate it i hate it so much

Imagine being an actress sending in a tape to play Shae in GOT and seeing the author say some nasty shit about watching it and wanting to take a could shower.

the reason why Palestine isn’t being seen because Palestinian journalists were killed. Lebanon is still getting bombed by Israel. Russia targeted Ukrainian cities. Sudan is facing the worst humanitarian crisis. Over 7 million people are displaced in Congo. Don’t stop talking.

@hollowearthterf Especially because she was not even writing. What she wanted was to become a journalist and she would say she would be in this job because of it but she did not even have time to dedicate herself to what she wanted to do.

@hollowearthterf Even her FATHER had a problem with her job and did not understand why she was staying there, you think he was insecure? Andy’s friends, boyfriend, family all understood her motivation but did not think it was worth for her to stick with being mistreated by her boss and miserable

“He hates hot and good she’s gotten at her job” the man literally gets home and finds her doing her boss children’s homework? How is he or her friends supposed to think this is a good job especially with her complaining about it constantly?

“Major career success” and it was a job that she complained about ALL the time, where she was miserable in with a boss that abused her position of power constantly? He was not angry at her being successful but at her chosing to stick in a job that she was mistreated

@ijbolnyra That fully understands sexual assault. I would argue that the situation with Dyana is the one she understands the severity of it and we should judge her for not recognizing it or punishing Aegon when she could have

@ijbolnyra Her wanting to know everything comes with her wanting to defend Rhaenyra to the king if it is not true, something that would require her to go against her father/his position. So yeah she was obviously not right to judge Rhaenyra at all but we are not taling about a teenager
