The majority of msk referrals are for pain yet we are inconsistent at best, with little or no effect on pain beyond doing nothing We really need to focus on the person not the pain or try to chase that bullet

Paging 1ry care #TeamGP #FCP, begging you to not tell patients they are being sent for an MRI/steroid injection/to see a surgeon. Many➡️Triage➡️telephone consult with Tier 1 physio and expectation management upstream is massively needed.

@DrMarwanAl_D @DrJN_SportsMed Agree. But ‘one-off’ CSI might be worth considering with rehab education etc. and other treatment has failed GTN shockwave etc. I still like needle fenestration.

@JS_spt_therapy There will be some that justify its use for the commonality of it, and ease of understanding for patients. But it’s inaccurate, lazy,impossible (in the context it’s used) and plain wrong. Stamp it out
