@flowersandbytes @sophaskins this would be awesome on my yamaha sy85 with a whopping 8 megabytes of added ram! should also be possible to transfer over midi. sure, would be even slower. like 45 minutes. but beats waiting on each of 12 floppies and switching them out.

@sophaskins mine is scsi specific but this sort of mod is VERY popular for this genre of machine, I'm sure one exists for a brand like akai

@sophaskins if you just want to work with floppies, ignore this BUT... I have a sampler from the same era and I got a floppy drive emulator (from the vintage apple people of all things) that lets me 1: shove a 16gb sd card full of samples in there, 2: write to the SD card via USB port
