Baddy, I’m sorry if this comes off as insensitive, but I need to ask. You’re a big account with well over 100k followers, which means you likely earn at least $700 every week. Are you saying you couldn’t save up to ₦1m of your own money to contribute to your surgery? Let’s even leave aside the fact that people weren’t clearly told the donations were only for one leg. How much have you personally contributed so far? Because from the outside, it looks like you’re doing better than a lot of the people being asked to donate. Earning close to a million naira every two weeks from revenue and gigs, yet people who are not even sure where their next meal will come from are expected to give from what little they have to send you to Egypt just doesn’t sit right.

I have been following this whole saga and as a neutral person, the only thing I get from it is that people are just frustrated…they are almost envious of the fact that a single person would be benefitting from such a huge sum. At the end of the day, it is just poverty.

Yeah, the money was stolen. The visa, flight ticket, surgery, 34 days accommodation, feeding in Cairo, rehabilitation, and recovery was paid with catarrh and spit. Donate your own Catarrh.

I have nothing against this two gentlemen. But when reading through wizarab comment section you can clearly see the perfect example of nigerian hypocrisy. Nigerians tweets to hold their government accountable every single day, dragging leaders for corruption, greed, and lack of transparency butwhen it comes to their favorite influencers they suddenly go blind and start defending the same rubbish. In these comments, people are aggressively attacking anyone asking basic questions about the donated money. Our selective outrage exposes the real sickness. We only demand accountability when it doesn’t touch our idols. The same greed, entitlement, and impunity we hate in our government lives strongly in us when it comes to protecting the influencers we worship. We are the biggest hypocrite and that’s one of our problems in this country we ask and demand for accountability until it’s someone we like.
