@AGoatSimulator I wholly agree. But it made sense. 2.0 was the chinese part of the game, and let’s be honest: they have always been the weakest in each game too. But after we left Waifei, the story instantly became better. I loved the outing with the AoD. It felt much more like the ZZZ I love.

This point makes me think that people with genuine critiques about the ZZZ design direction need to also criticize Hoyo's problem with using high fantasy as a crutch in their writing. ZZZ went from modern fantasy in 1.x to plots indistinguishable from their other games in 2.x.
