@shortstackedcat Index ans middle fingers of left hand to hold eye lids open. Lens on end of right middle finger, in it goes. Blink and it fits comfortably. To get out, same left hand action but use right index finger and thumb to push lens together and out.

Productive planning meeting - brownies autumn term planned. Brownie Pack holiday date and venue (and vague programme) planned for 2024. Date and plan for brownie residential planned for 2025. Guide / Ranger Switzerland fundraising plan initiated. Feeling damn smug right now 😂😂

Nope, no, no! I've paid for v. expensive tickets to hear the paid, trained professionals sing, I don't want to hear Karaoke Karen miss every every note & invent some of her own as she goes. Save that for the car, shower, hoovering. (& Yes, I have and will tell you to zip it..!)

So well deserved. I may have mentioned it before, but this show was AMAZING. If you've not already, watch it!

@tinkslou I struggled to ‘pass’ my job’s fire safety training. Remote interview and working, had never been to the building, and no I could identify all the exits. I kept guessing until I got them all!

Anyway, module completed. Am now on health and safety induction.I may be doing these in the wrong order. And also I've been with my organisation, in the same building, for 21 years. This may be a bit overdue...

I'm spending my morning doing various bits of health and safety e-learning. First up, fire safety.

@MrBoothY6 I’ve always, since I was very little, read the ends of books first as I loathe surprises. I am very good at not sharing spoilers with others. But this was a hard one to keep quiet on!

I trained 60-ish teachers over the last two days, and did a section on how authors subvert expectations using The Turbulent Term Of Tyke Tiler as an example. Only three of them had heard of it - has it died out? Bring it back!

Hi @sainsburys, I’m not sure what this is (it looks and feels suspiciously like meat) but whatever it is, I don’t think it should be in my tomato, lentil and red pepper soup. Any ideas?

@sainsburys I do indeed. I don’t have the receipt any more but can take the packaging and object to the store I bought it from.

My Brownies are made of enthusiasm, energy, and a taste for trying new things. The energy they have late at night on a sleepover is particularly impressive!
