SOJC’s student-run print magazine, FLUX, just won the General Excellence! award in the @AEJMC 2023 Student Magazine Contest! Several student members of the FLUX team also took home awards. Congratulations to the entire team at FLUX for producing so much high-quality journalism.

Behind the scenes, writer Elliott Deins and photographers Drea Secchi and John Adair are developing Megan Smith’s story of setbacks, dedication and what it takes to accomplish her dream of swimming in the Paralympics.

Local bronze artist Pete Helzer is helping Senior Editor Chandlor Henderson memorialize her what will eventually be a bronze bust of Henderson’s late mother. Reporter: Chandlor Henderson Photographer: Derek Heath

Born on January 30, 1959, Betty Henderson lived her life to help others. After a long fight with cancer, she lost her life on September 27, 2007.

At the start of the term, Flux Magazine reporter Ainsley Maddalena and photographer Kyle Prince traveled to Blanchet Farm. Blanchet Farm, located in Carlton, Oregon, spans 62-acres and offers unique sources to help with substance abuse recovery.
