🇺🇸 When the cable snapped, the pilot did not.
An E-2C Hawkeye came within seconds of disaster after an arresting cable failed during carrier landing. One of the most dangerous moments any naval aviator can face.
No panic. No hesitation.
The pilot pushed the throttles forward instantly and fought the aircraft away from the sea, clearing the water by just meters.
Training took over. Skill decided the outcome.
This is why carrier aviation remains one of the hardest jobs in the world.
