Reports from Sweden say that Kenan Busuladžić (19, 6/8) will finally choose 🇧🇦 over them. It’s even being said he’s a candidate for the World Cup. Big news if true, but still waiting for confirmation, he was always one of the more complicated dual nationals. From the base, he is a very interesting player and also an important profile we need. Technically strong, intelligent, with good awareness in terms of scanning and understanding space, both in deeper areas and box-to-box roles. He helps the game flow with a balance of progression and security. It all sounds excellent, but the main reason he hasn’t really performed yet is a physical disadvantage, which has led to a dip after a period of serious hype and links with Benfica about a year ago. Obviously, he is still only 19, and just because we got him during a (slight) dip doesn’t mean the situation can’t change within a few months. Personally, I rated him extremely highly at U17 level. I believe the World Cup qualification is the main reason behind the switch and we need to keep using this momentum. We are currently in a period where there are an unusual amount of dual nationals available, and decisions made now could define the next 10 years, if not longer. It has not always been like this, and it won’t be the case every generation, so we should believe in Spahić. National team recruitment is completely different from club recruitment after all. It’s mainly about not missing or losing players, while at club level it is far more complex and risky.

Bosnia-Herzegovina have contacted Malmö FF midfielder Kenan #Busuladžić about representing BiH internationally. The 19-year-old has not made a final decision yet, but #Barbarez and #Spahić reportedly see him as part of the team’s future.

Sweden's biggest sports source Aftonbladet is reporting that NFSBiH have contacted Kenan Busuladžić (2007) on potentially switching to play for the 🇧🇦 NT. Says the player is still undecided though. Would be a good long-term replacement for Hadžiahmetović and alternative to Tahirović. Technically skilled and creative on the ball, but physically needs work to realize his potential at a higher level. Adding him and Ćatović to Tahirović, Bašić, Gigović (Huseinbašić?) could leave us potentially set for years in those double-pivot positions.
