@JustinCBram @0xBaseee @JUDEAU_1 Makes perfect sense, clearly thesis team adopted early on. Dose however make sense to allow API in for a timeframe prior to TGE. Will give better idea of how OI/daily stack up against other API integrated DEXs. I’m sure you know this better than me.

We're coming to a determination on that now and welcoming feedback. We believe turning it on would have a huge impact on trading volumes as it would allow for more systematic/advanced trading (and thus increased revenues). But we want to make sure retail users have a solid opportunity to earn points now. So maybe the right move is to give retail a large enough head start and then turn on the API a couple months ahead of TGE? What do you think?

One *massively* underappreciated fact about Variational: ~~We haven’t released a trading API yet~~ That means trades are manual "click trades" from real humans. No bot farms diluting the pool. Future tokens are going straight to actual users, which is surprisingly rare in this industry.

the more i look into @variational_io, the harder it becomes for me to justify sub-$20 point valuations because at this point the market is still mostly valuing current-day OMNI, while the team is very obviously building toward something much bigger the shift became much clearer once they onboarded @JustinCBram as head of product to drive the transition from crypto into RWAs and eventually the broader “universal broker” vision and this is happening way sooner than most people realize > phase 1 is literally coming this month: using Omni’s existing RFQ infra to launch 24/7 RWA perps on the most demanded assets > then phase 2 this summer: 100+ international indices, commodities and equities Singapore 30, China A50, Nvidia, Coinbase, MicroStrategy, wheat, natural gas, etc.. > then phase 3: 24/7 perps on thousands of markets + eventually prediction markets, pre-IPO markets and other exotic assets all leading toward Omni Pro and the institutional side later on meanwhile the treasury just crossed 2M USDC today, and it should only get better from here as the team keeps improving things and fixing OLP inefficiencies hoping it compounds hard before TGE because people underestimate how important that treasury can become later for buybacks hyperliquid-style assuming a 25% airdrop and TGE somewhere around august/september: • $500M FDV puts points around $15 • $1B FDV gets you closer to $30 and despite all that, polymarket still only prices: • 51% odds for 500M FDV • 18% odds for 1B FDV feels like the market still hasn’t fully repriced what variational is trying to become variational summer

@tradM9 @ElNachoCrypto Old UI colour palette is already a classic. No flashing orders a blessing after a 15 years of casino inducing visuals. More newcomer friendly than any DEX or CEX. No site specific MMs drives the spread based rev model to be as user friendly as possible. UI OI OI OI

@ElNachoCrypto I'd like them to take inspiration from Binance, the best to ever do it. No order book obviously but change to the Variational colour palette, simplify the "Buy-Sell" toggle with "Buy/Sell" button to "Buy/Long" and "Sell/Short" buttons, fix the fonts, add light mode too ideally.

i think it's important to be honest here as things stand, i actually prefer the current ui over the proposed upgrade on testnet in the simplest terms, it's missing a look and feel that makes me want to use it it doesn't have the same draw that other platforms have (thinking about hl/lighter here) main issues are: -layout and use of space (text isn't tight) -buy/sell buttons (very bright colours when hovering) -icons -the updated var logo -still think the markets page needs work i do like the darker theme tho, so there's that i've come to really appreciate the functional ui we have thus far, so perhaps i am just being resistant to change i want this to be the very best it can be, and i'm just one person, so please share your thoughts does everyone else like the proposed upgrade or is it just me? gvar

if you're not going all out on Variational rn you hate money and have a grave misunderstanding of what's about to happen They are close to launching RWA perps which will be far superior to HIP3 (and other venues) due to the RFQ design in terms of + Liquidity depth + Funding + Amount of markets Team has hinted it will launch the API after RWA -> I expect lots of people (and maybe MMs) to start arbitraging price and funding differences between Variational and HIP3 through the API (We'll probs see tons of DN farmoooors as well) TLDR you're not bullish enough on Variational and we're experiencing the silence before the storm

Now that some of these DEXs have TGE'd (at much lower valuations then people expected) I see more and more rhetoric about how all DEXs are doomed. But one of them is unlike the others. All DEXs on the list are either Hyperliquid or GMX clones with some small differentiation. @variational_io however is completely different Its the only RFQ platform out of all the platforms mentioned. Why this matters? RWA RFQ is far superior for bridging the liquidity from native markets to crypto RWA markets. Imagine trading basically any SPX stock with sub 1bps execution cost on $1m clips -> thats what will be possible with RFQ. Compare that to the liquidity on most current HIP3 (or competing competing venues) where a $1m clip on say TSLA costs 6-25bps -> this difference will only become bigger the more size / smaller markets you trade. Variational will win the RWA perps race Viva la Variational

Fact check: false 1. Variational is decentralized because all user collateral is stored in a segregated collateral account per user onchain. OLP puts *its own funds* up for collateral on CEXes. This means if binance is hacked user collateral is not lost. 2. We use a broker model but there is no separate A book vs B book. All trades go into one global portfolio for hedging. For hedging we do use binance as one liquidity source, as well as other exchanges. This is why we are able to aggregate liquidity and provide much better liquidity and lower costs than other DEXes. 3. We have routed flow to hyperliquid before, and are open to doing so in the future too. We see ourselves as complementary to all exchanges in the space, and we have a grow the pie mindset. This will be especially powerful with our RWA launch as we will aggregate across tradfi liquidity sources as well.
Flood@ThinkingUSD

Calling Drift a "decentralized exchange" was always funny to me. They used a Binance account much like Variational to just B-Book all the client trades and hedge it out on Binance Perps.

While our current focus is exclusively on Omni for perps trading, the long-term vision of the Variational Protocol is to support a variety of apps. Variational Pro, for example, is designed to streamline the $1T+ OTC derivatives market with an on-chain RFQ system.
