@RichardHoiles @sam_angelina22 Imo Rule 4's turn 'not everyday' punters off much more. Even after explaining it on course their faces tell you that they think you've pulled a fast one to pay them less than the ticket stated. Could probably call it something different to 'Rule 4' to make it more believable!

@sam_angelina22 But less than it says on the ticket and not in the case of an each way race where runners drop from 8 down to 7.

The truly outrageous thing is how this mare was deemed a runner. This annoys me so much. The bookies won’t mind though, will they? Just the punters losing out. As good as stealing.

@chrisgambler247 @BetOnRyaner Probably the fact that many of online outlets now post the data, meaning operators could consume it second hand. Do they still own the data when it's in the public forum? That's the legal pinch point.

Media rights costs are the elephant in the room in the debate over 'axe the racing tax' and punter restrictions.

@chrisgambler247 @BetOnRyaner As an operator you pay a much cheaper fee to use them as the latency is higher. Would be interesting if operators were to adopt the same approach with racing. Albeit I would suspect there would be endless legal challenges for using publicly available data to service UK racing.

@chrisgambler247 @BetOnRyaner I think that's a different question. I'm sure there are some feed providers who do not have rights deals & will work from publicly available data or their own staff in grounds to settle markets. Providers such as Lsports.
