How sad. I loved singing in the choir at school, even though I told everyone I hated it. And I played the xylophone or was it glockenspiel?
Labour should have a target of a choir for every school. It would improve civilisation. bbc.co.uk/news/articles/…
Zero tolerance on UK orchestras writing that a conductor is "leading" an orchestra. Absolutely zero. You will never see this Americanism in any copy written by me.
A sumptuous evening of 20th century showpieces, from an orchestra that never fails to delight: the wonderful @SinfoniaOfLondn conducted by that brilliant musical alchemist, John Wilson (with stunning Bernstein from @JamesEhnes). A magical penultimate night of the @bbcproms.

We are delighted to be one of six ensembles nominated for the prestigious @GramophoneMag 2024 Orchestra of the Year Award.
Decided by public vote, this accolade highlights orchestras who have produced exceptional recordings over the past year.
#Reform came second in 103 seats, 93 of which were #Labour winners.
What does this tell us?
It tells us that they lost in at least 103 seats. That’s it. Under our current system that’s ALL it tells us.
If you were going to vote for Reform then you would have done so a few days ago.
The reform voters were probably the most exercised of all voters.
Imo that 15% is their ceiling.
Deep down we are NOT a racist nation, we are a caring one and I’ll fight for it to stay that way.
YOU ARE NOT THE SILENT MAJORITY.
AS THOUGHT, YOU ARE THE LOUD MINORITY.
75% of the electorate are NOT Reform voters. And that’s with a low (60%) turn out too.
If it had been 100 percent I very much doubt that reform vote would grow, meaning their vote share would be much, much lower.
@NickTriggle Hi, I read your article about sick note culture and working age illness. But I was surprised you haven’t mentioned Long Covid, clearly one of the major drivers increasing numbers with work-limiting conditions - happy to talk further
@coyleneil Hi Neil, I’m one of your constituents. Could you make the case for linking the number of people off work with the millions suffering from Long Covid / Chronic Fatigue? No one’s making the case - instead of removing benefits, the government should be funding solutions
Conservative MP David Davies spews utter nonsense about asylum seekers for two minutes on #BBCQT
He then says Bridget Phillipson is a disgrace
Fiona Bruce interjects and says we shouldn't call individuals a disgrace
Around 2m 50s Bridget Phillipson finally responds
"We started this program discussing standards in public life.. I'm happy to debate policy but it's pretty hard to discuss outright lies, when people just make things up"
David Davies then talks over Bridget Phillipson
Right. It's the BBC Music Magazine Awards at Kings Place today. Do come and say 'hello' if you're coming, as I do enjoy a good natter. And I promise that, at a push, I can manage topics of conversation other than Oxford Utd and CrossCountry Trains.
