Together with RDW, we have officially completed the final vehicle testing phase for Full Self-Driving (Supervised) and have submitted all documentation required for the UN R-171 approval + Article 39 exemptions. The RDW team is now reviewing the documentation and test results package internally. They have communicated the expected approval for Netherlands date of 4/10, shifting from 3/20 previously and we look forward to successful completion of this cooperation.
Following the Netherlands’ approval, European countries will be able to recognize this approval nationally. We are anticipating a possible EU-wide approval during the summer.
Over the past 18 months, this approval has involved a series of intense documentation, development, testing, research & audits. Including but certainly not limited to:
– 1,600,000+ km of FSD (Supervised) testing on EU roads
– 13,000+ customer sales ride-alongs
– 4,500+ track test scenario executions
– Thousands of pages of written documentation for 400+ compliance requirements
– Dozens of research studies into safety performance/results
We're extremely proud of the work conducted with the RDW team up until this point.
We very much look forward to the approval in April, and sharing FSD (Supervised) with our patient EU customers!

⭕️[Rumor] Tesla FSD V14 to launch in China after regulatory approval, full rollout expected in August… shift to subscription model at 600+ RMB/month
According to Chinese Tesla community sources and local bloggers, Tesla’s Full Self-Driving (FSD) is currently undergoing regulatory approval in China, with a potential full-scale rollout targeted for August 2026. This information should be treated as a high-confidence rumor, as there has been no official confirmation.
Two key points stand out. First, the approval process appears to be aimed at broad deployment rather than limited testing, suggesting meaningful progress within China’s strict autonomous driving regulatory framework. Second, Tesla may skip V13 and directly introduce FSD V14, likely to better handle the complexity of Chinese driving environments with the latest stack.
In addition, Tesla is expected to transition from a one-time purchase model to a subscription-based model, with pricing potentially exceeding 600 RMB per month, referencing the $99/month pricing in overseas markets. This indicates a broader shift toward positioning FSD as a continuously improving AI-driven service, rather than a static software feature.

NEWS: Tesla in talks with Chinese firms to buy $2.9 billion worth of solar equipment.
Suzhou Maxwell Technologies, the world’s biggest producer of screen-printing equipment used to make solar cells, is among the leading candidates to supply machinery for the project and has been seeking export approval from China’s commerce ministry, according to the two people and a third person. The sources declined to be named because the information is not public.

We
– design the chips & hardware
– make the cars w/ said hardware
– collect real-world data at scale
– train the real-world AI model
– built (& continue to expand) the massive supercomputer cluster that trains it
– deploy AI directly to millions of robots on wheels
All that is shared with @Tesla_Optimus for broader applications in both the physical & digital world

NEWS: NASA is planning a bigger @SpaceX Moon mission role using Starship, in a massive blow to Boeing.
With the new proposal, Boeing's SLS would no longer be used to boost Orion close to the moon. Instead, Starship and Orion would dock in Earth orbit, giving Starship the pivotal role of propelling the capsule to the moon’s orbit, before taking astronauts down to the surface. bloomberg.com/news/articles/…

NEWS: The NHTSA has announced that its has upgraded the probe into Tesla's FSD (Supervised) in low-visibility conditions to what’s known as an “engineering analysis.” It’s a step that is often required before the agency tells a company to issue a OTA recall, but does not automatically mean that the NHTSA will issue a OTA recall.
The NHTSA said its engineering analysis follows an earlier preliminary review and broadens the probe to about 3.2 million Tesla vehicles across multiple models equipped with the system, covering most vehicles on U.S. roads.

We’ve been able to generate physics-accurate, real-time video for self-driving training & testing at @Tesla_AI for a long time.
The compute required for this (roughly one H100 per HD camera) is still far too expensive for consumer use, but probably becomes affordable in 2 to 3 years.
