@JakeZwagerman @AgroConceptos I currently have a older model, We have done test. Personally I am not sold on it 100% because I believe there is many factors that go into this. We have found air temperature from the compressor to the head is important along with air flow droplet size. We need to keep learning.

@MaxROIFarmer @sean_nettleton Was just on the phone exploring moving to 24 row “cheap” strippers today. Think I should just quit farming if I gotta pay that much. Freaking nuts

How much yield will premature death in my corn cut yield??? It is extremely difficult to predict but corn around half milk line that dies will have yields cut around 10% according to older studies. With today's late season grain fill and kernel flex I feel the number is closer to 15%. Fungicide trials with a check, 1 and 2 applications will help us put a better number on that when the weigh wagons come out. Nice article below. #corn-yield-reduction" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener">pioneer.com/us/agronomy/Yi…

U.S. Southern rust worst in decades! Last time this occurred, BIG YIELD LOSSES! Why? No fungicides were in wide spread use back then. Still today, over 25% of U.S. farmers did not use "protection". Many reasons, cost being one. Another Big One, no profit margins to work with.

Farming is in a struggle right now and not enough people are talking about the actual numbers; USDA's Corn Yield x Avg. Farm Price per bushel 2023-2024 : $806.72 per acre 2024-2025 : $779.96 per acre 2025-2026 : $760.20 per acre Income is down 5.76%, nominally. If we include inflation, $806.72 in April 2023 would have the same buying power as $853.07 in April 2025 (according to BLS CPI Inflation Calculator). That means $760.20 in April 2025 would have the same buying power as $718.89 in April of 2023. So to compare apples to apples, income adjusted for inflation, is down 10.89%. That's why it feels so hard right now. Because if any other industry lost nearly 11% of its purchasing power in 2 years, there would be a rebellion.

@corn_porkNbeans I bought a new Eby last fall and have loved it so far. It's probably not fair to give advice since I haven't had it that long. Personally, I think they all 3 are good options.

We have been no-till/strip till soybeans behind corn for 6 years. Have really liked Yetter devestators for residue breakdown and for seeding covers into, moisture retention etc. Looking at a bigger corn head, and thinking about the actual $ value add/benefit they provide vs. stompers (we will not go to chopping). I am curious on others experience that are also running strip till or no-till soybeans after corn.

Is anyone using a 35’ Brandt grain belt for dry fertilizer? I don’t want two different conveyors for grain and fertilizer. If not Brandt, what other brands are out there? USC, Ray-Man?
