And separately, yes, I do think competitive primaries and healthy third parties are prima facie good for democracy. Maybe you think it's better from a utilitarian standpoint if parties hand-pick their candidates. But it's less *democratic*!

There's been a class of political consultant types who have long been overconfident that if you just ran back Biden v Trump, Biden would win. Now that's much less clear. I do think Biden's polling will improve. But it might have been better to give voters more of a choice.

This is amazing. #chatgpt just makes stuff up with no obvious sign of what it is doing. I tried it in Sports Scheduling (an area I know something about): none of the references listed exist! Note that its grammar gets distinctly worse when caught in a lie.
