To the @nyjets, on the other hand. You are thieves of joy and happiness. A black hole from which the likes of happiness and dreams have no chance of ever escaping. You never fail to find new ways to both shame and disappoint me. I am a worse version of myself because you exist.

I have no idea what’s more impressive, the dad throwing dimes right down the middle of the plate with a slingshot or the kid hitting them every single time. No wonder the Dominican Republic produces so many MLB superstars. They start playing “difficulty” mode to start, Best thing you’ll see today.

@Willpa11 I don't see any of the breakout candidates (Taylor, AD, Braelon, Davis) really "breaking out" but barring injury I'm expecting Garrett Wilson to have his best season so far. Like break out from a Star to a true Superstar 1500yd 10TD. Defense, i think Ponds is a rookie breakout

@espnbob Also Tippman is much more valuable as a Guard than he was as a Center. They should still take a Guard but 2 is unnecessary

I’d say a few things: 1. I’d disagree that a freaky athletic receiver who runs a 4.4 is a dumb pick, even if he’s labeled TE 2. Jets need weapons, for next year and for a rookie QB most likely next year 3. Guards can often be found in later rounds. And the draft isn’t over yet!
Michael Pastore@mordred0831

@espnbob Jets need 2 guards so tippmann can move back to center. They cant block up the middle neither for running or passing plays That was why wasting a pick on a TE last night was dumb they could have gotten Lemon and take 2 guards in the 2nd round

@PSLToFlushing Arvell Reese at 2. Spencer Fano at 16. Trade down from 33 and pick up an extra 3rd. Trade 44 for BTJ. AJ Haulcy at the traded back 2. Malachi Fields with the extra 3rd. Albert Regis is 103. Top remaining TE at 140. Caden Curry at 179. Trade the 7s for capital next year or depth.

@DanGraca @damienwoody It's not that Vega Ioane isn't a good player or is worth the 16th pick- he's fantastic and great value there. The problem is the opportunity cost of missing out on a day 1 WR2 because you left a gaping need at G that you could only fill at 16

I hope the #Jets don’t go second class at the left guard position. I think C Josh Myers needs good players on both sides. If u can’t get a solid vet then I don’t mind them using one of their picks in the top 44 on that position

@fodera80 That would be a different plan. I was referencing tweets from people saying the Jets have their bridge to 2027

Biggest issue with the Jets QB plan (if Geno is the bridge to 2027) is that teams are unlikely to want to trade back, if this is a “generational QB class”. The Jets can have all the assets in the world, but they need to finish with a top 2 pick again to guarantee a QB they love

@LukeGrant7 Unless they're targeting Simpson this year AND to be competitive enough to keep their jobs, then they have 3 1sts in a great class to make a huge jump

What’s the one move you want the Jets to make in FA? Similarly, what’s the one move they MUST avoid?

A @ConnorJRogers galaxy-brain special: 2: Arvell Reese or David Bailey 16: Carnell Tate (or other WR that falls) Trade 44 and future capital to get Ty Simpson at the end of Round 1 Trade back from 33 to recoup the lost draft capital Win. 🤯

Among the upcoming moves I'd be watching out for: - A new Breece contract or him franchise tagged (vs transition tagged) - A move to get Dalton on the roster (not saying he is going to be their only QB addition or guaranteed QB1) - Sherwood *potentially* traded - Fields gone - An aggressive push in the free agent safety market - A multi year offer to AVT and a potential proactive extension to Tippmann
Henry Nachtman@HankKnight

@JCaporoso The money he saved in this trade is almost exactly what the Jets would need to tag Breece Hall.

@Willpa11 @acosta32_jp Is it... Is it dumb to take him at 2? At what point do you kinda just say screw it to positional value, especially in a class where the top end talent isn't very strong. Between him and Downs, they both feel like bona fide game changing players. Isn't that what you want at 2?

@TampaBayTre He seems to project better as an off-ball linebacker... Which if thats the case, what justifies him going ahead of Styles? They're both going to test as freaks, Styles was more consistent and had better production.

While the #Jets will deploy a versatile defense, the base, I'm told, will have a lot of 3-4 principles. That made Johnson expendable -- he's a 4-3 DE. This FA market is deep in edges who will fit what Aaron Glenn's defense will now look to do. They also get a pretty good NT to eat up the middle of their line, help a run defense that was quite poor a year ago.

@jamiestuartTV Wouldn't be a bad pick at all, and a very safe one, but with the caveat that he likely wont ascend to that upper echelon of truly game breaking EDGEs (note the key word "likely", anything can happen obv). The question is do you try to get a basehit with #2 ovr or swing for a HR?
