As we marked the end of Ramadan, we were reminded that its core teachings; sacrifice, compassion, discipline and generosity, mirror the very foundation of the Broad-based Government that aims to bring Kenyans together across all divides to foster inclusion, harmony and collective growth. The ceremony was graced by a number of national and regional leaders, among them the ODM Party Leader and Siaya Senator, Hon. @DrOburu_O and Governor of Kisumu County, Prof. @AnyangNyongo'.

Roads are at the heart of the Government's Bottom-Up Economic Transformation Agenda (BETA), for it is through reliable road networks that people, especially in rural communities, are able to access markets, services and opportunities that improve livelihoods. The completion of the Kapsuser–Sosiot and the ongoing construction of Kapsurer–Kipsolu roads, a 13-kilometre twin-road project upgraded to bitumen standards in Belgut Constituency, Kericho County, is therefore a significant step in strengthening rural connectivity and local economic activity. The project will have a direct impact on the tea-rich zones of Kericho and the wider Rift Valley by improving access to farms, factories and markets. With better roads, farmers and traders can transport produce more efficiently, reduce post-harvest losses and stimulate trade across the region, further unlocking the agricultural potential that continues to anchor the local economy. The State Department for Internal Security and National Administration also plays an important complementary role by supporting coordination with local administration and security agencies to ensure safe use of the road network, facilitate smooth movement of people and goods and maintain order along key transport corridors that connect communities and markets.
