Time for the Gerry McNam-era at Syracuse. I think Syracuse knows it needs to spend in order to be competitive. No doubt Gerry will get the most out of his players. SU can’t let lack of resources (what happened under Red) be the reason it doesn’t work under Gerry.

Here’s the @espn story on Gerry McNamara’s expected hire at Syracuse. Per ESPN sources, one thing made clear in the hiring process is Syracuse will be competitive in NIL, with a projected budget in top-third of the ACC. espn.com/mens-college-b…

@syracusefan44 Even if this is accurate, that number isn’t going to stay there if we keep losing. He’s incentivized to win, he just apparently has no idea how to

The biggest worry for Syracuse Basketball is apathy from lifelong diehard fans.

@syracusefan44 @BrianHiggins315 Red is done that decision is made. The next coach needs to be good but again that’s not a call that non-mega donors have control over. Just like the other decisions the past decade. Withholding money from the AD won’t make him a better AD it will handicap him

@syracusefan44 @BrianHiggins315 What change? What would have happened differently if we boycotted? Wildhack made a series of errors in judgment that led us here. Which of those decisions would have been different if there was a boycott?

Make Syracuse Basketball Great Again
@folezaj @BrianHiggins315 If the university loses millions in ticket, merchandise and concession sales they’d be more likely to make a change than if fans blindly keep showing up and giving their money. Why would they care to make a change at that point? Fans need to stop buying tix and merch.

Make Syracuse Basketball Great Again
@folezaj @BrianHiggins315 That’s not necessarily true. If fans don’t go to games and buy concessions and merch that hits a lot more than you think. They’ve already lost millions from the low attendance this year compared to a typical year averaging the highest attendance in the nation.

@syracusefan44 @BrianHiggins315 Only a tiny fraction of fans have financial sway over athletics. We’re where we are bc JB stayed too long, red was hired, and we’ve been behind on NIL. All of that falls on wildhack and the admin. What exactly would have gone differently if fans had been less supportive?

Make Syracuse Basketball Great Again
@folezaj @BrianHiggins315 I’m saying some fans in a way deserve this because they didn’t see anything wrong with embracing the bubble instead of demanding more. The more pressure you put on the admin (esp financially) the more likely they are to make real change. Look at UConn for example.

Make Syracuse Basketball Great Again
@BrianHiggins315 In a way the fans allowed this to happen. They embraced becoming a bubble team during the last years of Boeheim and it became our identity. The fans allowed the standard to be lowered each year until we got what we have now. No tournament for 5+ years and no hope in sight.

Harris and Biden bear a lot of responsibility for the state of the country right now, but how does protesting them make life better for anyone? They’re not in power. Direct that energy toward the people actually making decisions right now.

Everyone should do what they want with their time, but protesting someone who doesn’t hold the keys to power right now feels like a waste. There’s clearly deal-making happening, so protesting Kamala accomplishes nothing except giving cover to the people actually in charge.

@_rotimia They’re not going to be shamed away. That’s not how this works. Regardless, getting the right people in office is more important than whatever storybook process you’re hoping for

People who don't want a primary in Maine miss this: the establishment won't just give up. They'll keep trying to win. They need to be embarrassed badly and shamed away forever. That requires upset after upset until the message finally sinks in. x.com/BernieSanders/…
Bernie Sanders@BernieSanders

Graham Platner is a great working class candidate for Senate in Maine who will defeat Susan Collins. It’s disappointing that some Democratic leaders are urging Governor Mills to run. We need to focus on winning that seat & not waste millions on an unnecessary & divisive primary.

There are very few things in life worth having that come without an obstacle. That's why Mills has to run—Platner, like Zohran, needs to beat the establishment badly so people see how incapable that wing is at winning competitive elections. He needs to prove it on the field.
Drew Savicki@DrewSav

Politico reported today that Kirsten Gillibrand who leads the DSCC this cycle has not reached out to Graham Platner. politico.com/news/2025/10/0…
