They fired Thibs because after five years they were sick of his style and wanted someone who would be more collaborative with the FO. This has been reported multiple times. They didn’t fire Thibs because they were disappointed with the result of making the ECF for the first time in 25 years.

Aaron Judge in big games is such a weird thing. He’s very clutch in the regular season and he’s had big moments in the playoffs. But then he has way too many at bats where he looks totally overwhelmed by the moment. It’s A-Rodish (outside of 2009). It’s like he overthinks the AB.
