I’m expecting a very different Spurs team tomorrow. Wemby & Fox will be better. If they lose this next game, series is over. Wemby has that dog in him.
@JaredWeissNBA So Edwards has the worst injury and he’s playing , and Bryant can’t even play with a sprain foot and he’s way younger , how crazy the spurs have no heart !!!
Gilbert Arenas says this series is over for the Spurs:
“I’m just going to be honest with you. There was nothing the Spurs did that showed anything that can beat the Wolves in a series. They still don’t know what they offense looks like, Wemby still don’t understand guard offense when you have a guard on you, you have a offensive book, when you have a big on you, you have a offensive book, right? So, the fact that they can stick a shooting guard are a small forward on you and still don’t know what your doing, that is not acceptable in the playoffs against a team that went to the Western Conference finals 2 times.”

At the end of the day, let's be clear about why the Spurs lost this game. It wasn't because of the refs, and it wasn't because of Ant.
It was because they couldn't hit wide-open shots. Minnesota's defense poses plenty of problems, but the Spurs got great looks in this game.
If Wemby hits 2 of those 8 mostly WIDE OPEN threes and Fox hits 1 of the four he missed, it's a Spurs win by 7.
There's zero reason to panic and every reason to be emboldened. It was one of the worst offensive games we've seen from Wemby and Fox together, and they lost by 2.
Sucks to lose at home, but this is the fun of the postseason! Ignore the Wolves fans. They don't know any better.
Spurs guard De'Aaron Fox, on the cause of his poor offensive performance in Game 1: “It was me. Unforced turnovers. Missed shots. It wasn’t really anything they did. It's a good defensive team, but I don’t think it was anything in particular. I think it was all me.”
Takeaways from the Spurs Game 1 loss vs. Minnesota:
- Victor Wembanyama and De’Aaron Fox will simply not shoot that bad again, it simply won’t happen
- I like Dylan Harper’s play, but he should never be the best offensive player
- Mitch Johnson should’ve called a timeout and given his guys a chance to slow down
- But the look for Julian Champagnie was a 10/10, nine times out of ten he hits that shot
- Also why are we using challenges in the first quarter? Genuinely why????
- Devin Vassell has been amazing this postseason, truly amazing
- I know Stephon Castle fouled out, but he had a good game, however he has to be more careful
- Keldon Johnson was unplayable in the first half, and was the vocal point of Minnesota’s offense late, they just attacked him
- This game showed how much the Spurs need Carter Bryant’s defensive energy, he has to guard Randle
- Why did Luke Kornet play just eight minutes? The Wolves have so much size???
- The half-court offense has to change, the lack of movement at times is abysmal and Mitch has to get Wemby better looks
- Speaking of, Wemby’s shot diet was awful, no down-low looks, no post ups, and he only shot four free throws because of it
- The Spurs won the rebounding and points in the paint battle, and somehow lost
- Fox has got to be better of taking care of the basketball, six turnovers is simply unacceptable
- The players were bad, coaching was bad, and they lost at the buzzer
0-1. The Spurs are still winning this series. #PorVida
