@jadexskywalker yes!!! you put it perfectly it was such a stereotypically misogynistic way of writing her
English

@forceplague There are SFBC editions like this for a lot of older SW books. Either trilogies like this, or other standalone books that never got a hardcover release. They also just did hardcovers for random books sometimes anyway.
English

@jadexskywalker that and it felt unnecessarily slow at points. the build up is necessary for the pay off in tyrants test but i think i would’ve enjoyed it more if it was a duology instead
English

@jadexskywalker it definitely has some good moments. i liked tyrants test a lot more than the other two. my main critique is the way the women (leia and akanah) were written, which i would argue is misogynistic

@jadexskywalker that’s cool i haven’t seen that before for this one. i kinda had to force myself through the first two books in this trilogy 🥴
English

@forceplague It would be great if this was shown to be flawed thinking and makes her blind to attachments of the non romantic kind but we could never be so lucky for someone to realize that
English

and again i would be fine with this if it was actually deconstructed later in vernestra’s perspective but its not. she doesn’t realize how she’s wrong because the author doesn’t realize they are wrong
