Hi @victorosimhen9 thank you for bringing smiles to faces and being a good man. God bless you. I have a request. I'll be very happy if you grant me the audience to sit with you, and share in your journey. I've consumed a lot of your story but I believe more can happen. I want to tell your story. The whole of it. In its rawness, in its riches, and its grass to grace glory. I've done something similar with Taiwo Awoniyi, and it's one of the best things I've ever written. According to him, it's one of the best things he's read. My desire is to tell our stories, your stories in a way nobody has ever done before, because people need to know what it means to be where you're at. I believe telling yours will lead to telling others’ too, and many youngsters’ too who hope to be like you. Thanks for your consideration. @_AsiwajuLerry My name is Rilwan, I love and write about football systems, memories and the depths behind the game. Follow me and repost if you want more of this.

They will soon come back to apologize for the betrayals, or for the evil or the wickedness that they intentionally did to you. For the sake of Jesus Christ, forgive them. But, delete their contacts from your phone. End your relationship with them. Don't bring them close to you again. Jesus peached love. But, he didn't preach stupidity.

"Can fresh graduates negotiate?" Absolutely! Just because you’re new to the workforce doesn’t mean you can’t negotiate, it’s all about knowing WHAT & HOW to do it without turning off your future employer. What can fresh graduates negotiate? 1) Salary (in some cases) If you have relevant internship experience, in-demand skills or multiple job offers, you might have room to negotiate. 2) Job title A small title tweak (e.g., “Marketing Coordinator” → “Marketing Associate”) can make a big difference on your resume. 3) Start date Need extra time before starting? You can request a later start date to better fit your schedule. 4) Training & development Ask about sponsored courses, certifications or mentorship opportunities that can help you grow. 5) Hybrid/Remote work options Some companies allow fresh grads to work remotely on certain days, why not ask? 6) Performance review timeline Instead of waiting a full year, request a 6-month review with a potential salary adjustment. 7) Signing bonus If salary negotiations hit a wall, some companies offer signing bonuses as an alternative. 8) Work tools & equipment Need a better laptop, software or work materials? These are negotiable too. How to negotiate the right way: Instead of just asking “Can you increase my salary?”, show them why you’re worth it: ✅ Highlight relevant skills (internships, projects, certifications) ✅ Show enthusiasm for the role & company ✅ Be flexible & open to discussion Negotiation isn’t just about money, it’s about setting yourself up for success. So, go for it! No interview invitation in the last 6 weeks? Let’s help you fix that CV and get you noticed. Email your CV to cv@oyk.co.ke with subject 'Revamp'.

You might not be able to pray for an hour before leaving the house - especially if you live in Lagos. You might also struggle to read your Bible before heading out, but you can try this: If you need to leave extremely early, it usually means your workplace is quite far away. You can spend that 1+ hour in the bus with your earphones plugged in, fellowshipping with God during that time. On weekends, you can then extend your prayer beyond an hour. The same applies to Bible study: You can read two chapters of the Bible while commuting to work, and intentionally set aside two or three hours for deeper Bible study on Saturdays and Sundays. We’re at war, it’s a battle for consistency. May God help us stay consistent this year.

Go for that one-hour lunch break. The company won't collapse just because you went for lunch. The bitter truth is that if you died today, your job would be posted on a job board even before your obituary is written.

A Gen Z joined the team. Week one. During onboarding, the manager said, “We sometimes stay late during peak periods.” Gen Z nodded. Then asked, “Is that paid… or just expected?” The room went quiet. - No attitude. - No rebellion. - Just a question. Later that day, HR mentioned “growth opportunities.” Gen Z replied, “Does growth include raises, or just more responsibility?” Again, silence. - No laziness. - No entitlement. - Just clarity. That’s when the team realized something. When people say “Gen Z is lazy,” what they really mean is: Gen Z watched old generation - skip meals, - miss birthdays, - work weekends, - and burn out only to be told “budgets are tight” and “be grateful you have a job.” So Gen Z chose differently. - They don’t romanticize overwork. - They don’t confuse suffering with ambition. - They don’t trade health for praise. They still work hard. They just refuse to work for nothing. It’s not laziness. It’s pattern recognition. And honestly, after everything old generation went through… Can you really blame them?"
