The monad account was suspended without warning, I have to assume due to a mistake. We weren't doing anything abnormal, using the API, etc. We've reached out to X support via a variety of channels and I would expect the account to be back soon.

Monad's X account suspension is almost certainly collateral damage from the April bot purge. Nikita Bier confirmed X is suspending ~208 bots/min and crypto-native accounts are getting caught. High reply volume and engagement metrics look statistically like bot farms to the classifier. March wave: 99% restored within days. Same pattern expected here. Not a Monad issue.

@obsrvgmi @matteodotsui @Polymarket Polygon was only 6 months old when Polymarket launched on it. I don't think age is an issue. The obvious choice is Monad imo

they will build their own l2. - why not base: they will never be dependent on coinbase and forever pay sequencer fees to them. unlikely they will get the opportunity to customize orderbook. - why not sui: contract migration is hard. chain went offline for hours last year. - why not solana: contract migration. ( - why not monad: relatively new. will not go to a layer 1. they will try to capture everything and highly likely have their own l2.

Mate, I've run validators since 2021. The point stands. A tx submitted at t=0 into a chain with 2.5s blocks waits up to 2.5s for inclusion. Block level finality being instant doesn't change that. Polymarket's matching engine cares about end-to-end latency from order to settlement not the finality property of an already confirmed block.

@ForestStaking @frugalbc You are using AI to respond and still getting it wrong, once it’s in a block it’s final, there is no chance of reverting. Its instant. Don't reply if your going to run this shit through Chatgpt

Polymarket announced it plans to migrate away from Polygon. Why? There's a host of issues, but transaction failures and slow speeds are the top causes. (And block size was an issue too.) Here Staci and another senior Algorand official make their pitches to bring the market onboard. It makes sense. Not only is algorand fast, inexpensive and reliable (never a single second of downtime), but they specifially mentioned a TypeScript SDK. Guess which chain supports native TypeScript? Not everyone is thrilled though. Some argue it's a diss on @alphaarcade, which was built natively on Algorand. How this plays out in the coming weeks and months will be interesting.
StaciW_DC@StaciW_DC

@devjoshstevens @Polymarket Josh, Algorand has instant finality, 10k tps, and 2.5 sec block time, sub penny transaction fees, and we've never been down for a second. A team of integration engineers can onboard you seamlessly. We'll reach out next week. Have a great weekend! s

Fair distinction...Algorand's finality is instant per block, I agree but user-facing latency is still bounded by block time and 2.5s blocks means worst-case 2.5s before a tx is confirmed. Polymarket's order matching needs subsecond end-to-end, which is where Aptos (~sub-second with Quorum Store + Block-STM) and Monad (sub-second target) pull ahead."

@ForestStaking @frugalbc You're mixing block time with finality. Algorand finalizes each block immediately once it is added, the 2.5 seconds is time to produce the next block, not a waiting period for finality.

@MikeyKennedy99 @frugalbc 2.5 second isn't instant. Polygon's finality is 2 to 5 seconds and it's not enough for what Polymarket needs.

This is my 3rd week as VP of Engineering DeFi at @Polymarket , and I'm going to be straight: the traction @Polymarket has seen has massively outpaced our infrastructure, and we haven't done nearly enough to scale to keep up. I hear you, and fixing this is our entire focus. We're a major company now, and we need to engineer like one. Here's exactly what we're doing: - Onchain data latency. We're working on making this near-instant so the experience is incredible. - Chain migration. We need more block space, cheaper gas and much smaller block times so settlement is instant. - Transactions are getting cancelled. We understand this is one of the most frustrating issues right now, and we have a complete fix coming very soon. - Massive focus on the website to make it faster, more responsive, and with better UX. - We added observability everywhere. Proper alerting so we catch issues ourselves, market makers should not be the ones telling us something is down. That's been unacceptable, and we know it. - E2e tests throughout, starting with the CLOB, so issues get caught in CI before anything ships. - CLOBv2 is not a rewrite. It won't improve performance or stability on its own; it's an upgrade that unlocks us to move fast right after. We'll do better with communication next time. - We are rebuilding the CLOB from the ground up. Most important thing we're doing. Without it, we can't be the best DeFi exchange in the world. We know it, we're on it, it's mission critical. - Unified TypeScript SDK for all APIs, which is shipping soon. - Unified API. One WS connection for everything, with a schema that's actually readable. - New Polymarket contract in the works that unlocks things that are simply impossible on the current protocol. - New hires: Head of QA Automation, Head of Dev Tooling, Head of Internal Tooling, Head of Data Engineering. - Smaller, dedicated teams. Fewer focus points per person, clearer ownership. People do what they're good at and are accountable for it. - Working closely with customer support to give them real debugging tools so any user issue gets properly diagnosed, not lost. - Proper communication with marketing and market makers so everyone knows what's coming and when, and MM can submit feature requests with a clear path to get them into engineering and shipped. - Working with 4 security teams daily to ensure we're super secure and that funds are always safe. - Perps incoming. Brand new contracts and a backend built from scratch in Rust. We're proud of this one. - A lot of other fixes are running in parallel right now. Starting next Friday, I will be posting weekly engineering updates. I joined because I genuinely believe in what @Polymarket is trying to do. @shayne_coplan built this so the world has somewhere to go to find out what's actually going to happen, not what the media thinks, not what a pundit says, but what thousands of people are willing to put money on. But right now, our engineering isn't living up to that. We've let people down, and I'm not going to dress that up. I came here to fix it, and that's exactly what we're going to do. The next few months are going to speak for themselves. Stay with us.

So Polymarket will migrate away from Polygon chain. That will no doubt signal the start of the slow demise of Polygon. As to where Polymarket heads? Probably only 3 options: 1) Build own chain/L2. 2) Solana 3) Base Everything else is pretty much dead in the water as things stand.

Monad fits the brief almost perfectly. Parallel EVM with 10k TPS and 1s block times means lift-and-shift for the CTF Exchange contracts, no Solidity rewrite, same tooling, same audit surface. Settlement latency drops by an order of magnitude without sacrificing the EVM developer ergonomics that got you here. The deposit rail is already live (MON + USDC native), mainnet has been running since November and the parallel execution model is purpose built for the kind of orderflow concurrency a CLOB driven prediction market generates. Hard to think of another L1 where the migration cost is this low and the ceiling this high tbh

Chain migration is going to allow us to give the best user experience, from the chain, to the infra, to the UI, the benefits will compound across the stack.

If Polymarket actually migrates to Solana - it’s over for other chains They definitely need an L1 with the best infrastructure, speed, and cost Polymarket and $POLY could easily bring a Solana Supercycle What are your thoughts? 🤔
