Today, the 10th of July, 2025, I was called to the largest Bar in Africa. I shall now be addressed as EZEH FLORENCE CHIDINMA Esq. (Barrister and Solicitor of the Supreme Court of Nigeria). Today feels so surreal, my head is swimming so fast. A 9 year journey finally ends.

I was on the floor, my dad picked me up and hugged me. I am so grateful, you don't understand, a second class upper? In the harshness of Yola, I never went home, never complained, just me, my books and my jokes. Eric Edeagu is a lawyer!!

So the office did profit sharing yesterday and everyone was shocked at the amount of money they were dishing out. Guys who have barely spent two years in the office were collecting over 4m naira. Some even got promoted and received this within the last two days. The whole place was in high spirits. But there was this one guy, an older staff member. Among his mates who came in together as GTs about three years ago, he was the only one who didn’t get either a promotion or a bonus. It was crazy. Imagine watching your guy get promoted, start earning almost double his current salary, and on top of that receive a 4.2m naira bonus. Baba was so sad today. Everyone was sad on his behalf. His appraisal didn’t meet the cutoff for a bonus. In fact, people had to tone down their excitement so it wouldn’t look like they were rubbing it in his face 😭. They even shared serious food in the office, he refused to collect. He barely said a word all day. I heard he had already made plans for the money and didn’t know he wouldn’t be getting anything until yesterday. Then, just around closing time today, his guys in the office contributed about 2m for him. The moment he saw the alert, baba lit up. It was so funny 😭😂. Someone who had barely said a word since morning suddenly came back to life, he even started asking for the food he initially refused. I just told him I had already finished it. You people did not sha tell me that you people’s offices be sharing profit in millions like this o, I think sey na only salary una dey collect o. 😭

What some "seniors" do under the guise of "we are building you" should be punished. I witnessed a proceeding where a junior counsel was making false statements before the court (based on what she was informed in chambers and didn't think through as well) and the court was very furious with her for misleading the court. The court was saying everything will be recorded and tabled before higher authorities. The senior is somewhere chilling knowing full well that he/she has set the junior for serious bashing by the judge. For me, the Court should pierce the veil by looking at the most senior counsel in any office sending a junior counsel to expose her to ridicule and mete out the publishment the junior would have suffered on the senior and the firm. Because this has become the practice.

"What year were you called? 2025? That is the problem. Your seniors send you to court, making you believe you can do everything. You think you can just appear before any level of court just because you're wearing a wig and gown. Things happen in court that without experience, you can not manage. Thank God that will soon change. I blame the senior who sent you here without putting you through. Are we supposed to be tutoring juniors when we should be hearing appeals?" Court of Appeal, Lagos. 14th April 2026. This was the reaction of the Court to a young lawyer's underpreparedness for an appeal. Dear senior lawyers, please stop sending young lawyers to court to take a bashing in your stead. Take responsibility for your own case!

They tortured that guy into denying his faith — claiming to be a pagan — and then when the torture got too much, he cried "Jesus". And then they tortured him even more that he finally revealed he's a Christian. People will watch that video and tell you this isn't religious cleansing. Tinubu, alongside his APC horde, watches from Aso Rock as his Jihadist brothers continue to kill Nigerians like livestock. When they're tired of killing, he'll grant them state forgiveness and rehabilitation. It takes a certain level of desensitisation and loss of your humanity to watch what's happening and still support this vile government. Or make excuses for the existential threat we face.

I think I am the only one who has never logged into someone’s live before and be watching them live their lives. If everyone was like me, these people migrating to twitch now won’t be having any views tbh. Nobody will be watching them. 😭

Look at the caliber of people representing Nigeria.. It’s not just your email that's compromised, your sense of shame is gone, your entire character is a wreck. You have the title of an official but the mouth of a garage tout. You’re a national embarrassment and a disgrace 🤡🚮

Special Assistant (on Social Media) to the President of Nigeria, who is a candidate in the election being conducted by the INEC, is on social media defending the INEC Chairman against public outcry over partiality. I’d never seen this level of combined mediocrity and impunity.
Daddy D.O🇳🇬@DOlusegun

PRESS STATEMENT INEC CHAIRMAN HAS NO ACCOUNT ON X, DISREGARD PARTISAN FABRICATIONS The attention of the Office of the Chairman, Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), has been drawn to a malicious and coordinated campaign of calumny circulating on social media. The false claim alleges that the INEC Chairman, Prof. Joash Amupitan, SAN, has, in the past, endorsed a partisan post on the platform X (formerly Twitter). The Commission wishes to state categorically that this allegation is entirely baseless, a total fabrication, and a figment of the imagination of its purveyors. For the avoidance of doubt, the INEC Chairman does not own or operate any personal account on X. He has at no time engaged in partisan commentary, nor has he ever associated himself with any political leaning or activity in his private or public capacity. This contrived X post is a desperate attempt to impugn the integrity and neutrality of the Chairman at a critical period when the Commission is focused on significant electoral reforms and preparations for upcoming polls. It is a needless distraction designed to stir public distrust in the electoral umpire. Beyond this partisan mischief, the Commission is aware that cybercriminals have been on the prowl, utilising fake social media accounts in the Chairman’s name to defraud unsuspecting Nigerians. We wish to place it on record that several of such fraudulent accounts had been identified and reported to security agencies in the past. This latest fabrication is merely a continuation of a criminal pattern aimed at exploiting the Commission’s profile for illicit gains. The Commission will not fold its arms while the character of its leadership is being assassinated by digital imposters and mischief-makers. We wish to notify the public that we are working in close collaboration with relevant security agencies and cyber-intelligence units to track and identify the individuals or groups behind this identity theft and misinformation. Let it be clearly understood that the Commission will ensure that these imposters face the full wrath of the law. Identity theft and the dissemination of deepfake or forged social media interactions are criminal offenses under the Cybercrimes Act. Those responsible for this mischief will be tracked and prosecuted to serve as a deterrent to others who believe the digital space is a safe haven for criminality. The general public is hereby urged to disregard this falsehood in its entirety. We will continue to disseminate official information regarding the Commission and the Chairman’s activities only through our verified institutional channels and formal press statements. The Commission remains undeterred and fully committed to its mandate of delivering free, fair, and credible elections for all Nigerians. E-Signed: Adedayo Oketola Chief Press Secretary/Media Adviser to the INEC Chairman Abuja, Nigeria. 10th April, 2026
