I have to rec it immediately otherwise I’ll keep thinking about it (I will regardless but still). This story emotionally wrecked me in the best possible way. Stared at the ceiling for a while after some scenes because I had to process what just happened. I’m just in awe at how visceral everything felt. There’s this quote from one of my favorite movies that goes “If there's any kind of magic in this world it must be in the attempt of understanding someone sharing something. I know, it's almost impossible to succeed but who cares really? The answer must be in the attempt.” Taekook in this fic reminded of that quote because these are two very different, very complex characters trying to understand each other. They may not always get it right but the effort is there. One of my favorite things about this fic is how the author handled the age gap issue. It was handled with a level of care that made it feel honest. I can relate to Taehyung’s character because I’m closer to his age in the story and that makes his perspective feel familiar. I can also understand Jungkook’s because I was once his age and saw life through a similar lens. I’m just so in love with how their journey was handled. Probably one of the most realistic relationships I’ve ever read. I’m rambling but this truly is one of the best stories I’ve read. If you haven’t read this yet, take this as your sign. It’s a masterpiece ♥️
