Looks like a hay meadow that's been cut for hay. You can tell because the hay has been roughly rowed up. The farmer will turn it several times to dry it, before baling it. The reason it was full of wildflowers and wildlife is because it is a hay meadow, that is mown & then grazed

Devastated to see that several meadows just outside the edge of Shotover Country Park SSSI have been mown for seemingly no reason. Just a a week or two ago, I came here to find these meadows swarming with wildflowers, butterflies, moths, bees, grasshoppers etc. WHY.

Sunaks' charity support seems very focused on the health & care sector. While this is very important, it's not the whole voluntary sector, all of which is in crisis.

Another myth widely promulgated is that the public will tire of restrictions to their freedoms. In fact, the public acted to socially distance, avoid mass gatherings, and work remotely ahead of govt advice. The govt has underestimated the public’s capacity to understand and act.

Please read and support our letter in The Times today calling on the UK government to share the evidence, data, and models on which it is basing its policies. Without complete openness the public’s trust will be lost.

The country is riddled with anxiety .The government should start daily news conferences to explain strategy and answer questions. Social media is fine BUT millions do not use it ... incl many elderly, precisely the people you need to reach . #coronaUK

Here’s a tip I’ve been trying in the evenings: every time you feel yourself wanting to terror-scroll through Twitter, put your phone out of reach and read a book. Managing your mental health in the next few weeks is going to be essential.

Here’s something to cheer us up! A vision of #rewilding in lowland Britain, courtesy of @kneppcastle. Wonderful artwork by Jeroen Helmer. Now we need to commission a version for the uplands!
