It continues to receive seasonal updates and free rocket passes. There is zero profit besides promotion for Rocket League.

From what I was told it isn’t the collabs, and it’s UEFN; it’s the same opinion then. I feel like laying employees off is not the way to do this.

Well the obvious answer here is that they need to STOP doing collabs EVERY OTHER WEEK. It’s affecting not only our community, prices and changes; but affects the employees too. I am really disappointed. People can’t keep up with the amount of collabs you guys are releasing. I am so sorry for those 1,000 employees getting layed off. I think this going out of your hands and you need to make a change. I hope this doesn’t happen anymore because damn this is not it. Why do you even spend more on doing cosmetics than what do you earn? 💔

I was laid off today after 2 years Epic Games.
If you enjoyed the maps in C7S2 or C6S3, The Simpsons mini-season map, or IP collabs like KPOP Demon Hunters, Superman, South Park, Doja Cat, and more, I was the Lead Environment Art and/or Environment Concept Producer for them.

All the damage Tim Sweeney has done to Fortnite:
- Cause Donald Mustard to leave
- Take all storyline resources to focus it on “Metaverse”
- Putting more focus on collabs
- laying off 900 employees cause “epic losing too much money”
- meanwhile:
. Waste billions fighting apple and google
. Waste millions on making epic games store just to attack valve
. Waste millions on side modes
. Waste millions to give UEFN people instead of your own developers
- for 3 Chapters UEFN and Metaverse become main focus overshadowing Fortnite’s own core
- Was thinking about changing Fortnite name for a bit until backlash
- Over promising on every aspect and under delivering
- Highering vbucks prices cause “we need to pay bills”
- lays off 1000 employees AGAIN
Meawhile:
- Still making disney and metaverse modes
- Still paying millions to UEFN people, even ai generated things or BRAINROTT. And there is more collabs in Fortnite rn than ever before
Tim sweeney is an example of when a person is willing to sacrifice everything for the sake of their goals, even if the goal is idiotic and stupid
Willing to sacrifice your own developers, your own gaming community for it.

People calling this the "end of Fortnite" need to get a grip and redirect that energy towards supporting ALL of the devs that lost their jobs today. Its terrible.
In Sept 2023, 900 other employees were laid off. It WASNT the end of Fortnite. But, with 1000 more being laid off today, we may certainly notice a quality shift. There is truly NO way to know yet how this will impact Fortnite.
So please stop doomposting, get over yourselves, and put your words where they matter, towards supporting everyone who worked so hard on this game and got laid off today.

I'm sorry but I just can't take this seriously.
They found a way to save about $500 million in costs...when they're paying out:
• Steal the Brainrot -- $24 million
• The Pit - $30 million
• Go Goated! - $31 million
• Bedwars - $11.7 million
• Piece Control 2v2 - $20 million
Just these 5 maps ALONE have made $116 million in revenue, one fifth of what they saved by cutting costs today. You can imagine how much more they pay out if you decided to go look through some more maps. I'm all for paying creators and rewarding us for keeping players engaged in maps, but when it comes at the expense of Fortnite's budget and the livelihoods of 1,900 employees, they should be the priority...not these maps. Insane...

I was impacted by today’s layoffs at Epic. Truly came out of nowhere for me. Right before my birthday, too.
I really liked Epic. Really liked the teams. Really liked what we were doing in music. So it’s all a shock.
Time to breathe for a minute. Then onward and upward.
