For the whole of September, @rollauver Tobi and I traveled across West Africa - Lagos, Abuja, Abidjan and Dakar. The conversations we had completely changed how we see business & cross-border payments. In Abuja, an OEM vendor told us: “If payments don’t reach Asia on time, shipments stall” For him, delays = lost contracts. Liquidity matters. In Lagos, a car dealer moving dozens of vehicles monthly said: “Every delay in Dubai costs me customers back home.” FX delays aren’t just numbers - they hurt real businesses. In Abidjan, an exporter moving 50+ containers of cashews, cocoa & rice monthly shared: “One missed transfer could ripple through an entire economy.” Cross-border trade = families fed, industries running. In Dakar, a car dealer told us why the same Toyota costs 10–20% less than in Côte d’Ivoire. Price gaps driven by FX inefficiencies literally decide profit or loss. We also met fintech founders in the mobile money space, moving billions through wallets that millions of Africans depend on. For them, settlement speed = survival. The lesson? Africa’s growth isn’t just about capital. It’s about speed, liquidity, and trust in payments. At @RollaFinanceInc, we’re not just moving money across borders. We’re building the financial rails that unlock growth. Payments are the entry point. Value creation is the mission. September was West Africa. Next stop: Dubai. Then Istanbul.

What happened to the Manchester City I love? Losing to Al Hilal is like USA losing to Iran in a war.

We just had the biggest bank collapse in America since 2008. And it happened because of a bank run. Let me explain how this will impact YOU:

Since these layoffs happened, it's really hard to sell me on anything. Roadmaps, org vision, team strategy, all these things sound like noise. I just want to focus on my work, do a good job, and go home.

ES2021 introduced `Promise.any` which got me thinking about the other static methods on the Promise API that we use every day in our async code as well Here are real-world use cases of all 6️⃣ methods to help us understand the differences between them /thread 🧵👇🏾
