@BenjiNaesen This was my interpretation yesterday. I can't believe WvA and kelderman couldn't have stayed longer at the front. I guess today will tell but I'm expecting J-V monster pace today

I think concluding the Jumbo-Visma mountain team is "weak" based on yesterday's stage is the wrong conclusion. On Tourmalet, Kelderman & Kuss dropped everyone except Pogačar. I believe Jumbo-Visma chose to save riders yesterday for the coming 2 mountain stages. #TDF2023

@charliepaige01 Someone has to pay for it though. Presumably better/ more sponsors or funding for the national federation? As has been mentioned, I doubt it's a case of more altruistic organizers

Nat Champs entry is £39 (€45). Meanwhile in France to enter a 4 day Elite Nat Tour it's €15. A few things organisers must provide: -Accommodation -Food for riders, staff and organisers -Closed roads -Total prize money of €1220 (PER STAGE!) The different is night and day...

@DaveHaygarth I had similar in a frame once. I ended up gluing it in place so it didn't rattle

@lindanixon2 @Kit_Yates_Maths This is a "normal" case. LFT quite likely to return a negative that a PCR subsequently picks up. Issue is that it's very unlikely to get a false positive on LFT. If you get multiple positives on LFT, the chance is even smaller.

@Kit_Yates_Maths But my friend was negative lateral flow and positive PCR ? She definitely has it though she is quite poorly.

At current prevalence, if you test positive on a lateral flow device you are overwhelmingly likely to have covid. Even if you subsequently test negative on PCR it’s still more likely than not that you have covid. Worth bearing in mind.

@AdamMyerson Over the years I've seen loads of CX bikes at work bought as commuters. Things like Jake the snakes and giant TCX. Those guys will be buying gravel bikes now. It's like "endurance" bikes compared to "race" bikes for your non racer. Without the mass market, pure CX will be squeezed

@AdamMyerson This is a curious one. I'm not sure there's much of a mass market for real cx race bikes. I'd imagine main usage of CX bikes is likely be better served by modern gravel or all road bikes. I hope this doesn't lead to real CX bikes being a curiosity like in the early 2000s

I hope people with gravel bikes show up to give ‘cross a try on whatever bike they have. But this industry trend of making a bike that’s in between geometry, so they don’t have to make both, means people are about to strike pedals, struggle to turn, and have no shoulder room.

@drpoco @Kit_Yates_Maths @HugoCDaniel @beardedjourno @TristanCorkPost I'm in Bristol. 3 +ve lateral flows, 2 -ve PCR. In my family we've had two overlapping isolations due to positive PCR (last isolation just complete). I'm double vaxxed and have cold symptoms. I'm treating it as if I have covid, as the alternative doesn't seem very probable

@Kit_Yates_Maths In a household where two people now have had covid. I've had cold symptoms and 3 +be LFT, followed up with two negative PCR. Currently remaining two members of my household negative on LFT and PCR

Many of us are hearing a lot anecdotally about people testing positive on multiple lateral flow tests but then negative on multiple PCR tests. Turns out PHE are aware of this and looking into it. Here is an extract from an email a local PHE team sent in response to a query.

@velobetty Someone threw an unopened carton of orange juice at me, I was egged once (thankfully hit my foot), and I've been hit with a stick, all from moving cars.

Who else has been hit with s projectile while cycling? Personally I've been hit with a water bomb and sprayed in the face with a high-powered water gun just while cycling past somebody. Friend was hit with a full watermelon.

@emilychappell I am so boring. Porridge oats, and milk (60%) water (40%). Honey to taste. I never even thought of doing anything else. I can see a whol world of exciting porridge on the horizon

Isn’t porridge amazing? I love how endlessly versatile it is. (This one made with jumbo oats, water, huge amounts of nuts, seeds and dried fruit, garnished with maple syrup.) Please indulge/inspire me by telling me your favourite versions. ☺️

@GAgravelgirl I forgot all my nutrition once for an 80 mile road race. Managed to scrounge a KitKat. Unsurprisingly I totally blew with about 20 to go and was even overtaken by some cycle tourists as I crawled to the finish
