To people who keep saying IPL is fixed, please stop watching cricket altogether. The same players take part in International Cricket.

@P_Remarks Genuine question on WIX. The Dutch auction tender offer expires in April 1. Is that artificially inflating the stock and it'll crash down to reality after April 1? What's your take on it?

@P_Remarks @Crussian17 As a bagholder on all 3 of these, think Base44 revenue acceleration is helping WIX. Sure buybacks will help but they only go so far. I'd rather have gtlb do more buybacks. Atleast it can be stable kind of like mndy, only down 7% in the last month. Gtlb down 21%..

@Crussian17 The fact that GTLB is being placed in the same bucket as MNDY and others is already a failure on the part of management WIX is another example +37% in a month, outperforming GTLB by 30% ytd despite a clearer bear narrative

Figma one of the most rapid 30% gainers I've had.... and it's sized such that it isn't even a rounding error on a rounding error lol. Typical

@RagingVentures When does the full post-IPO lock-up happen? Would be interested then. Figma and other IPOs are a case in point to avoid until the post-IPO lock expiry is complete.

I bought a bunch of $WLTH this week. At $7.80, this broken IPO (went public in Dec at $14) is a sub $1.1 b EV with $400 mm+ in cash and no debt. Trades for around 6.5x run rate EV/EBITDA and is capital light. Primary risk is lower interest rates which could lead to outflows and lower spreads on their cash mgmt biz, which is their biggest earner. Their investment robo-advisory biz is also exposed to market volatility. Still, they’ve been growing customers nicely and are rolling out new features, like mortgage lending. I see limited AI risk given their very low investment advisory fees. There’s a good chance they can grind through this rate cutting cycle without too much earnings pain. But even if earnings did take a material hit, the current valuation has already discounted a lot. Finally, the $WLTH IPO included meaningful shares from selling stockholders, so the post-IPO lock-up expiry should be less of a headwind than for many new issues.

Covered a small short position I had in $WLTH and flipped long. They charge 9 basis points for Direct Indexing the S&P 500 and 12 basis points for the Nasdaq, 0.25% for an ETF portfolio, it's actually very reasonably priced. One of the highest savings yields, free wire transfers, the direct tax loss harvesting program, for a robo-advisor its a pretty comprehensive offering at razor-thin pricing. Stock panicked on the AI fear, but I think the move is massively overdone. The type of clientele who pays for Roboadvisors and automated tax loss harvesting likely isn't the clientele that would prompt Claude to generate a portfolio and blindly follow it. Closed the short and flipped slightly long, not a high conviction trade but the stock is much more attractively valued than it was a few months ago.

@rubicon59 people playing games will want to buy stuff at the same level as downloading other games? That is not as clear to me. ad dollars for D2C moving from meta to app at scale will only happen if they perform close to meta levels.

Note that the e-commerce-advertising TAM for $APP is multiple times bigger than game-advertising. Also with more advert types variety, conversion rate from the cirrent games supply should eventually quantuple. The growth effect will be cumulative.

Loook i get why HF need to reduce SW but I think if you have a longer than 1 Q horizon, its really compelling here. wtf are we even talkin about right now when 90%+ of F500 workloads are still in customer datacenters ~20 decades into public cloud. Its not a zero sum game

@gauravsabnis The icc rights deal that's being renegotiated right now was signed in Aug 2022. At that time ICC was led Greg Barclay. Obviously bcci called the shots but it's an ICC deal, fewer India matches. Till we see weakness in bcci home deals - especially IPL, I wouldn't say plateauing

@gauravsabnis Icc rights have very few India matches. They definitely overpaid. The ipl rights and team valuations are going up and to the right. RCB's sale will establish a new benchmark, that's the financial reality. Both aren't the same imo. IPL every match you have India stars playing.

Indeed. But the larger story is that BCCI contracts have always been objectively overpriced. That's how competitive auctions work. Larger reality shift here Godi Media is ignoring is that for the first time ever, the overpricing proved fatal. Even with Reliance & Disney. /1
cricketingview@cricketingview

@gauravsabnis It was vastly overpriced.
