@zersiax @MSFTEnable In this case, the sound started playing after the IDE auto-updated. Now I have to randomize myself to figure out how to turn it off. That's a crappy CX.

@forzanom @MSFTEnable As for a prioritization problem ...no. Just no. They're solving a problem that blind developers have had in comparison to sighted developers for 25 years if not longer, and its a wickedly difficult problem to solve. So that a mainstream code editor is even trying is a good thing

.@MSFTEnable Whoever added the progress indicator sound in VSCode that sounds sort of like a dice roll, this is probably one of the most annoying sounds I've ever heard in an app. Please remove it or tell me how to disable it. #MSFTEnableFeedback

@zersiax @MSFTEnable Sure it's low effort. Why should I have to put in a lot of effor to use a product on top of the job responsibilities I use said product for. I'm happy to do it when needed, but it's a matter of finding the time like anything else

@forzanom @MSFTEnable Again, I'm sorry, but this just comes across as low effort and ignornt. I don't mean to offend you, I really don't, but this has been in the release notes for months. There's docs pages. There's issues on gitHub where they practically beg for feedback

@zersiax @MSFTEnable That's a lot of effort to put into sound effects. Some of them are useful, sure, but IMO spending that much time indicates a prioritization problem. I'm always happy to provide feedback directly if given the opportunity to do so.

@forzanom @MSFTEnable they ...have been. I get that you don't like it but please do your research before slinging this kind of mud? The sound effects, screen reader signals etc. have literally been like half of the entire accessibility focus for the last like 12 months

It's 2024 and inaccessibility of sessions at #CSUNATC24 is still very much a problem. Not reading and describing slide content fully, using QR codes to give out links to important info... Presenters, please do better for the blind people in your audience.

@hllf What does the developer strap do?

Going to test the developer strap for the Vision Pro. I have it connected via USB-C, and Apple Configurator on the Mac does see the device! So that's a positive start thus far.

@hllf @kool_turk If there's anything I miss about social media, it's this. I'm mainly on Facebook these days and mostly what I see is people complaining in various groups. Had to unfollow a lot of those. And of course the updates that people do post are very much photo based.

@kool_turk Yeah, but that's just silly. Switching to a platform that is not the equivalent of Twitter at all out of some ridiculous sense of some misguided protest only punishes yourself, not X.

Does anyone post their own stuff anymore on X? Looking through my timeline, 99.99% of the posts are retweets. Like I'm out to dinner and was thinking about posting that I was, but looks like no one anymore cares about such details. People just want to see pointless retweets.

It's been a very long time since I've been back on Twitter. Most of you who knew me from way back probably remember me from when I used to live in Los Angeles. I am going to try to post more now. I now live in South Florida in the Miami metro area.

@hllf I'll confirm with them but that sounds great to me! And yes Katrina is very used to being around multiple blind people, LOL.

@forzanom That sounds great! How about you guys come to my place, and we can then head off to wherever you guys want. Anything in particular you want to do or see? We have a very nice mall here if you're in a shopping mood; lots of amazing restaurants, and there's of course the beach too.

@hllf Yup. We're pretty flexible. I think we'd probably head up there sometime in the afternoon but we have no firm plans. Could even do later in the afternoon if that works better.

@forzanom Wow, yeah, of course I remember him, though I think he was like 15 when I last knew him. He's probably now like what, 27, 28? He's from Michigan if I recall.

@hllf My dad originally recommended it since his girlfriend's family has a place here. We came here last year as well. We were actually thinking of heading up to Boca Raton tomorrow to check it out.
