Day 2 of the EWIPA Conference is underway, with discussions so far focusing on African leadership and regional engagement with the EWIPA Political Declaration. Moderated by our Executive Director, @Theoanti.

Discussions highlighted key commitments of the Political Declaration, including limiting the use of explosive weapons in populated areas, strengthening policies to reduce civilian harm, improving data collection, and supporting affected communities. #EWIPAConference

Live at #EWIPAConference: Session 2 is driving a critical conversation on how military doctrine and operations can better protect civilians in populated areas, and how the Declaration can translate into real action to reduce harm. Stronger decisions mean safer civilians.

Discussions are underway on regional experiences and the humanitarian impacts of explosive weapon use in populated areas, focusing on indirect and long term impacts such as disruptions to healthcare, education, livelihoods, and essential services. #EWIPAConference
