Day 15 of working with figma.
In 2025, I was brought in to redesign the digital presence for Tkambio USA, a B2B financial platform connecting businesses in the US and Mexico. The core product—facilitating cross-border transactions and domiciliary accounts—was robust.
For Mexican businesses, the process of navigating US financial bureaucracy is often opaque and daunting, requiring extensive hand-holding. For US businesses, the priority is speed, clarity, and efficiency when dealing with Mexican partners. The old site, by speaking a single, generalized language, was creating friction and distrust for both, undermining Tkambio's mission.
The goal was to make a Mexican Business Guru/CFO feel guided and secure, while making a US operations manager feel fast and in control—all through the same website.
The redesign was built based on this things:
1. A Through Audit, understanding what each customer segment actually need.
Mexico Segment: Needed reassurance and guidance. Their primary questions were about regulatory compliance, step-by-step process clarity, and risk mitigation. The experience needed to demystify complexity.
US Segment: Needed efficiency and transparency. Their primary questions were about speed, cost, and integration with their existing systems. The experience needed to validate their time.
2. Tailored Messaging.
The homepage became a clear choice point, when you select a language, it activated an entirely different content strategy and information hierarchy.
For the "Mexico" journey: The copy shifted tone to be supportive and explanatory. Headlines focused on "Guía paso a paso" (Step-by-step guidance) and "Cumplimiento garantizado" (Guaranteed compliance). Complex processes were broken into numbered, reassuring steps with clear calls to "Habla con un especialista" (Speak with a specialist).
For the "US" journey: The copy became direct and benefit-led. Headlines promoted "Fast-track transactions" and "Seamless integrations." Information was presented in scannable bullet points and clear fee calculators, with CTAs like "Get a quote in minutes."
The Result
The redesigned, context-aware platform fundamentally transformed how Tkambio USA served its core markets. By architecting two distinct user journeys from a unified codebase, the project achieved its goal of making the complex feel simple and the foreign feel familiar.
