I'm Carci and I'm fucking good at classic RE games. People have been actually inspired by me to play these games at a high level for nearly two decades. If you try to tell me I don't know what I'm talking about, you're going to lose, then try ragebaiting me out of embarrassment.

saying ai is inevitable in the arts is such a defeatist mentality. don’t engage with it, don’t use it, push forward as human as you can be, challenge it and show that it could never create what a human can

using ChatGPT is not “inevitable” you’re just lazy

I still have never deliberately used AI for anything. I still do searches, and unfortunately, that now usually uses AI (and provides worse results than previous non-AI search algorithms). I resent it. AI is an environmental catastrophe. Stop using it to create slop, please.

@CarcinogenSDA Just generally feels less responsive than RE4R, can't really pin point anything specific.

@fothsid really? it's worse? I tried a little bit of 3rd person and switched back quickly when I experienced inertia but it didn't have any of the weird slingshotting that 4r did.

an overwhelming number of people asking me to do 3rd person in RE9 but nobody can accept the fact that 3rd person actively makes the game play like garbage guess i better just do the next video in 3rd person

@CarcinogenSDA RE9 genuinely feels way worse in that regard than RE4R

A lot of your actions get animation locked, hard. Grace randomly stumbles past event triggers if you play her in 3rd person. Leon takes a whole ass half second to go where you want him to go, and there's no agency over what direction he turns when he does. RE4 Remake had a problem with Leon randomly slingshotting in directions opposite of the inputs the player presses.

The negatives: 1: The story and retcons 2: Leon's sections are the worst parts of the game 3: Raccoon City is the worst section of the game 4: Recycled boss fights 5: Weak enemy variety 6: Weak puzzles 7: Underwhelming villains 8: Grace sidelined after the first act

@French_Slavic 1. The in-game timer is wrong as it took me 12~13 IRL hours to finish the game. 2. Don't let play time discourage you from playing games you think you might otherwise like.

@fothsid 8:45 ? Wtf is this? 70€ for not even 10 hours? I just bought the game, played 1~2 hours. It's fun and all but this is too short. Waiting 5 years for a 8 hours game is just not acceptable.

well re9 was a major disappointment 5 out of 10

@filthydrawings Yeah honestly that roughly fits into what I think about the story. Don't mind the stalker sections myself though.

@fothsid Didn't play it yet, but from everything I've seen on leaks it looks like a spit on the face of the series lore with stupid retcons and nostalgiabait instead of a proper story. I also really don't like the idea of having the low combat stalker sections, doesn't feel like RE.

@morelock_t35514 I don't know what Metroid Prime 4 has anything to do with this. I haven't really played or watched anything related to it, plus I still have to go through the other prime games good and proper.

@fothsid Have you seen Metroid Prime 4 Beyond? I'd say that is far worse, and this is coming from someone whose a Metroid fan.
