Tempted to launch a @HustleFundVC clone of MTS/TBPN, but closer in vibe to The Daily Show/Colbert Report/The Onion.

a friend of mine is hiring a Founding Engineer for his startup good comp + great equity the product: a simulated trading engine. think prop firm, but gamified massive organic audience surveyed (good sign of early PMF) the founders collectively have done: >10M+ in monthly impressions in the trading space >built a 8-fig/yr product, deep in marketing, acquisition, and ops >scaled an adjacent product to 300k users, 1M arr, and did a quarter billion views in within weeks of launch they're looking for a founding engineer (heavy backend) with real trading engine experience. US-based preferred

Appreciate the response - I see you been responding to almost all comments/reposts very rare/cool to see I founded damnbruh and in 6 months we did 250m views + 300k users, the same real money gaming industry (except I based it off slither, but chose this game for a reason) The biggest things I learned from this industry were: - virality - simplicity - low barrier to entry - skill gap - quick dopamine At the end of the day whether its regular gaming or real money gaming your main issue imo is going to be liquidity, so having enough players. With that you need the widest funnel possible to attract as wide of an icp. Otherwise wait times are going to be long, community will get dry, etc...liquidity is everything Chess is a very known game but you narrow it down because while most people know how to play, only a certain demographic play it seriously, and seriously enough to wager on it...and then by adding special abilities, it only adds to that, as there is a higher learning curve. With the virality aspect it goes the same way. With catching people's attention, how many people are going to stick around for something they don't understand in the first two seconds. Your dev skills are obviously top tier you guys have lots of talent and the project is sick, imo i'd look into expanding your brand beyond chess, or creating more simple variations just like the rubix cube having a 3x3 rather than 6x6. (but yes you can also run into the issue of cheating and can only do certain style games because of that) Look to make the icp as wide as possible, make your games as accessible as possible. You can still add all these layers like how CSGO created their economy, but at the end of the day I feel your playerbase is everything. Happy to chat more in DM's, W man 🤝

@foundparzival Interested if you have any thoughts on vitality. I feel like it’s the type of content that’s good for streaming/spectacle/clip.

@iamtyfrankel @whop Ran an 80k campaign with them, same story Had over 25k of false charges on their end and all I got was a chain of 5 ai bots passing me to the next bot through email as if they were a human support team For the life of me I couldn’t get in contact with a human

Jeez @whop support sucks Made $200K+ with the platform so far and it’s been a good experience overall but dealing with support has been a huge hassle That AI bot you guys have is clueless and once I’m routed to a human they’re even more clueless Really disappointed

1st Web App: ~80K users 2nd Web App: ~300k users Both I hit in less than 6 months. 1st iOS App: 1m users ⏳ Both Web Apps I’ve stopped marketing for. For many reasons. I’m taking all I learned and putting it all into this App, so excited lol it’s going to shit on the market. Let’s see how fast we get to 1m…

This is not the happy demo path, Apple or Google would never make this one of their launch videos... it's not what you will hear about in a TED talk, but it's real AI: Doesn't get tired, doesn't ghost A lot to think about in this one

Dude congrats to Whop and rooting for them but I just don’t get it. Their content is great and just like this raise video they always have great storytelling; their redbull approach to running a company definitely works. But i’ve run an 80k clipping campaign with them bought courses through them, imo the product itself is another Cluely.

We are excited to announce that @tether, the largest stablecoin company in the world, is making a strategic investment of $200M into Whop, valuing us at $1.6B. Our partnership with Tether marks a major step in building the world's largest internet market. Tether is committed to enabling everyone in the world to participate in the new internet economy. The way humans work and create value is changing fast. The world needs both an open internet market giving people a platform to conduct business, as well as a transparent payments network. Tether and Whop together will work to bring a sustainable income to billions of people throughout the world. There is enormous opportunity when you combine Tether’s global scale and wallet technology with Whop’s community of next generation entrepreneurs. My co-founders and I met as teenagers on the internet selling software. We first launched Whop as a way for us to sell our own software to people in Facebook and Discord forums. Prior to Whop, the place we found customers was different from the place we collected payments, different from the place we talked to customers, and there wasn’t a central place to “do business” on the internet. In partnership with Tether, we will be scaling infrastructure in real-time for new business models as they emerge across the globe. The job is just getting started. 🚀

We’ve stopped marketing for ~2 months now for @playdamnbruh for many strategic reasons, but safe to say we know what works… Excited for what’s to come, the products will speak for themselves - we’re way ahead of the game lol
