Three young protesters, Saleh Mohammadi, Mehdi Ghasemi, and Saeed Davoudi, were hanged in Qom after a sham trial. Reports indicate torture. Forced confessions. No access to chosen lawyers. Closed-door proceedings. No right to appeal. I call on @GlobalAthleteHQ to stand with Iranian athletes who are being silenced, imprisoned, and executed simply for raising their voices. This is not just about sports. This is about human dignity.

Meet Sahba Rashtian. She was 23. A women’s football player in Iran’s premier league and a referee’s assistant on the field. She was also an artist, a nature lover, and someone who lived life with the energy that athletes bring to everything they do. On January 19, in the city of Isfahan, she was shot by the Islamic Republic’s security forces. A direct bullet to her side ended the life of a young woman who had spent 23 years growing, dreaming, creating. At her funeral, her mother held her photo and said something that should break anyone’s heart: “I raised this angel for twenty-three years. Now I have to stare at her inside a grave?” Say her name: Sahba Rashtian. #IranMassacre‌

Meet Yazdan Afrough. He was 18. A wrestling champion from Tehran. A young athlete known for his strength, discipline, and the kind of determination that wins medals. On January 19, in the Shadabad neighborhood of Tehran, security forces shot him. He fell to the ground wounded. And then they finished the job, two more bullets, to the heart and the stomach. Afterward, his family was pressured to lie. They were told to say he was a member of the Basij. Human rights reports say otherwise: he was another young Iranian killed in the crackdown on protests. Yazdan was a rising wrestler, a champion in Tehran’s youth competitions. A young man with a future in the sport he loved. Instead of cheering crowds, he received bullets. Say his name: Yazdan Afrough.
