@CatrionaRiddel1 I wasn't in planning when strategic plans were a thing but I can see the benefits. Were they easier to adopt than local plans? Dorset and BCP areas became Unitary councils in 2019, they have a couple of extant LPs and the Purbeck LP that has been at examination since Jan 2019!

Sadly it will take a lot more than money and chief planners to fix LA planning depts. Morale is so low because the job is no longer the job we trained for & we need far more mid career planners, people that inspire & can lead. We need LA planners to be proud of what they do again
