Very important data from PARTNER-3 presented at #TCT2025 👇 At 7 years, the composite endpoint (death, MI, stroke, or rehospitalization) occurred in 34.6% with TAVR vs 37.2% with surgery (difference -2.6%; 95% CI, -9.0 to 3.7). No differences between the two groups in stroke, myocardial infarction, valve deterioration, endocarditis, and revascularization. Perhaps the most informative figure ⬇️: the vital status sweep analysis. After accounting for patients initially lost to follow-up but later confirmed dead, the apparent late excess mortality with TAVR disappeared, highlighting the critical value of complete follow-up ascertainment. Can we please stop the practice of clapping in the middle of every LBCT? It makes sense for something like COAPT, with so much effort and surprisingly/strikingly positive results. Meeting a NI endpoint with a wide margin shouldn’t cause eruption in applause. Just clap at the end.
