For the “Jamaica doesn’t have enough garbage bins, that’s why Jamaicans litter so much” crowd: let’s use Devon House as an example. On any given day, on either of the two lawns, there’s garbage all over, especially plastic bottles, as you’ll see in the photos. I’ve personally seen people eat or drink and just casually leave their garbage in the same spot. As I’ve mentioned before, the people who litter don’t do so because of a lack of garbage bins. It’s a bigger problem. Adding more garbage bins wouldn’t stop the people who litter. They’d litter anyway.

Scotiabank @ScotiabankJM @scotiabank lost my incoming $US wire. 3 wires in 1 month and only 1 can be found, despite the traces from the sending bank showing nothing changed in the sending details. Despite about 4 escalations, all closed with lies about the incorrect SWIFT code.

Let's make it a habit to call out bad service and let employees and companies understand the consequences of not prioritizing proper training and workflows to improve customer experience. This rant has been inspired by @ScotiabankJM , u have been getting away with murder.

Many are totally dependent on their income to make ends meet, and a challenge will put their job security into question. I've seen an employee beg and bawl for his job after being confronted for bad behavior with a customer. Many employers are not aware of their attitude.

We Jamaicans are culturally conditioned to accept poor service. Never realised this until my wife (a foreigner) pointed it out. I've been living outside of Jamaica for 12 years, and coming back has made vivid accepted slackness. We don't demand accountability and get nothing
