@Ronin_555 @ImMeme0 You deleted your original reply pussyboy. If you died no one would mourn you. You should do everyone a favor and take yourself out. You’re a lost cause

Horrific footage shows the moment 15-year-old Jaden Pierre was attacked and fatally shot at a NYC park in Queens.

@rainsblog Everyone’s jumping you but I went to high school with AWFUL people (I was a black girl in a PWI). Would rather swallow glass than have to stay friends with those people. I’ve grown and changed so much and my current friends are a true reflection of who I am now.

@lefilmara Yes! I interpreted this scene as a scenario in which Emma really is like ‘yeah, I was just kidding’ and they both laugh about it

Yes, I also think this scene is meant to show Emma wishing Charlie hadn’t fixated on it and instead imagining the two of them laughing it off.

This scene is sad as hell in context. We’re dropped into Emma’s imagination, where she pictures a world in which she never revealed her dark secret and everything’s still perfect. They’re happy, in love, excited about their future…it was just a bad dream

@jinxpistol Again, you are grossly oversimplifying the issue. Crime is a purely environmental and social issue. Yes, black kids are socialised to hold in and not externalise their pain but it runs so much deeper than this argument. It’s not conducive to actual crime prevention at all

If this was the case, most black kids in all white schools woulda been shot up those places Let’s connect the dots why it’s a certain demographic and who these specific individuals are
moony@freakwah

@jinxpistol Like why else would a young person externalise their pain by using violence? They’re obviously feeling ostracised by other people and they want to make others feel their pain. It’s not a justification, but it’s an explanation and there always is a ‘reason’ for violence.

@jinxpistol Please look at my other replies to your comment as I’ve addressed this already. I never said it was social hardships alone. You are GROSSLY oversimplifying Columbine. There is no actual evidence of psychopathy. If you ‘look shit up’ and actually did thorough research you’d know.

It wasn’t social hardships alone and I think it’s damaging to exclude the nazism and psychopathy of it all
moony@freakwah

@jinxpistol This is a reductive take imo. Criminologists acknowledge that kids who turn to gun violence DO experience a level of isolation and misunderstanding from their peers and the system. I feel like it would be oversimplifying the issue to say they don’t go through social hardships.

@fixatedwoman Yes! Not trying to say it’s normal to have those thoughts. I guess my point is that kids and young people who DO have those thoughts should not immediately be cast away and shamed for it, as it is not conducive to crime prevention. People (like Emma) need to be reached out to!

this movie does raise conversations around bullying in school environments and mental health in adolescents, but again if you plan to murder your classmates you are unwell and need psychiatric help. it is not NORMAL to have thoughts like that all & especially to try to execute it
moony@freakwah

@fixatedwoman But that’s the thing. Not every kids processes the pain the same way. Some kids externalise the pain of ostracism, I.e. turning to gun violence. You can be bullied and not want to kill your classmates, but some are bullied and DO want to kill their classmates. Prevention lies in-

@jinxpistol They also were not formally diagnosed with any mental illness that we know of. The FBI investigators who ‘diagnosed’ the shooters neglected to take into account that you cannot posthumously diagnose two minors (one had only turned 18 2 weeks prior). ‘Look shit up’!!

@freakwah The columbine shooters were nazis and literal psychopaths. Other shooters also had much more reason for doing what they did besides just them being ostracized. Pleaseeee for the love of god look shit up

@jinxpistol I actually research Columbine in detail on a frequent basis. So if you ‘looked shit up’ like you told me, you would find various newspaper clippings and student accounts in the 11k that attest to the hostile environment at Columbine high school.

@fixatedwoman Asking and acting on how we (society, schools and systems) get kids to channel pain in a non-violent way, and more broadly how can we get systems and our peers to adequately and kindly address vulnerable young people, especially young men on the path to violence?

@baqupaccount @enchantedayas Yes. I think the idea is that everyone has skeletons in their closet. Initially Charlie could not come to terms with Emma’s past, but then Charlie made the mistake with Misha and suddenly he understood being in Emma’s shoes as far fear of being judged for his mistake
