@jinxpistol Like why else would a young person externalise their pain by using violence? They’re obviously feeling ostracised by other people and they want to make others feel their pain. It’s not a justification, but it’s an explanation and there always is a ‘reason’ for violence.


@jinxpistol This is a reductive take imo. Criminologists acknowledge that kids who turn to gun violence DO experience a level of isolation and misunderstanding from their peers and the system. I feel like it would be oversimplifying the issue to say they don’t go through social hardships.


@fixatedwoman But that’s the thing. Not every kids processes the pain the same way. Some kids externalise the pain of ostracism, I.e. turning to gun violence. You can be bullied and not want to kill your classmates, but some are bullied and DO want to kill their classmates. Prevention lies in-
