@SVCarbaholic There’s absolutely no way anyone pays close to that for him. Massive wages, highly questionable fitness and available free in 12 months. He is also, let’s be honest, a bit shit. This is probably a bluff to get 5m which would be a decent deal because he’s worth less.

Early reports about Fernandes price were definitely highly optimistic. Closer to that 55m+ price mentioned seems to be coming out. Still doable for United with space left for more in the midfield if Ederson at £30m is the other deal.

I think with Fernandes, some of the reports are extremely optimistic about his price. And with west ham still fighting relegation, gonna have to wait and see there, at least 3 other PL clubs are interested. Feel like it'll be over 55m. But if United don't get an Anderson/tchouameni, etc then the cost spread out its still doable.

Don't expect Chelsea fans to care, but find it quite depressing that a club can do almost everything wrong - miss Europe, churn through managers, waste vast swathes of money on players on long contracts - and still attract a high-class head coach who would have his pick of jobs.
