While excelling in foreign genres is not impossible as demonstrated by Winky D it requires exceptional talent and consistency that not every artist can replicate. In essence, originality is not just a creative choice it is a strategic one. Artists who remain authentic to their identity are more likely to build sustainable and impactful careers.

So we are going to have a discussion on Constitutional amendment No. 3 . Let’s move together and ensure no one is left behind. So our first discussion is on “Term of office”. Let us first understand this in the context of the Constitution of Zimbabwe amendment No. 20 Act of 2013 Our reference points are: Sec 95 and Sec 91. Be patient, we will only move to the next part after we agree on this first part. Sec 95 except as otherwise provided in this constitution “Term of office are five years and coterminous with the life of Parliament” Sec 95 ‘otherwise provided’: Sec 91(2) “for purposes of this sub section three or more years’ service is deemed to be a full term” NB: Term of office in section 91(2) is applicable for purposes of determining whether or not a person is disqualified for election as President or appointment as Vice President. In other words, the interpretation applies only to the specific provision and NOT necessarily elsewhere in the constitution. Doesn’t spill over to the other provisions/sections. Term of office must therefore be understood in this context. So what is a term of office in the broad sense, its sec 95 (5 years). This provision applies generally and not “section related”

To lawyers I’ve wanted to write an article on this but haven’t found the time. For once I’m breaking my own rule and giving legal advice on Twitter. 1. A board of directors cannot authorize a person to give evidence (to be a deponent to an affidavit). What the board can authorize is the institution or defence of proceedings on behalf of the company. 2. With that authorization the board should appoint lawyers to act for the company and designate an officer to liaise with and instruct those lawyers. Since a company must be represented in legal proceedings by lawyers, it is these lawyers that must be authorized to do so. 3. A deponent to an affidavit must be a person who can speak positively to the facts. That is the only qualification. So it immediately becomes clear that no one gets to be authorized to speak positively to the facts. So a deponent must never say they have been authorized to make a deposition. That is a juridical impurity; legal heresy if you want. Hope that’s clear. Don’t ask questions. I won’t answer them. In the meantime, no to 2030. Now to our morning jump.
